Lazio, Provstgaard: "A dream to be here. There is a lot of quality in defense, I respect them a lot"
The words of the young Danish defender during his presentation press conference

Oliver Proustgaard
Rome 6 February 2025 - The January transfer market has ended Lazio begins to introduce its new faces after their respective social presentations. Today at the Formello technical center a press conference was held lasting almost an hour divided into four chapters, to present all the new arrivals of this winter transfer market session. The signings were presented in order of arrival in white and blue. So after Ibrahimovic e Belahyane it's time for Oliver Proustgaard, Danish boy born in 2003 who arrived for 4 million euros from Vejle, his hometown team.
Just like his predecessors, the presentation of the Dane was also anticipated by the words of the sporting director Angelo Fabiani: "I call him Oliver, he's a boy we've been following for a long time. We did - continues the ds - an operation along the lines of mandas, anticipating the times of integration within the club and the locker room. So that in these months, regardless of its use on the pitch, it can get in touch with the world Lazio, learning the language too. He is an important player in my opinion, he has innate skills, an imposing physical build. He is a big header, his height should not deceive, he is also quick on his first steps. He is a footballer who cannot do anything other than an excellent path to Lazio. We took him outright for a reason. We wish him good luck and leave him to your torture (jokes, ed.)".
From Denmark, in a team that is not top-tier, to Lazio. Football-wise, it's a very high level change, so we wonder if the player feels ready and what he expects from this adventure. "It's certainly a big step, but for my journey, my experience, I felt ready to do it. I was the captain of the Vejle even if very young. I face this challenge with patience and humility, I want to know the Serie A , Lazio, learn from all of this. It's a big leap, but it's part of becoming a great player."
The player has been in the spotlight on social media for Lazio fans, for a video of him wearing his father's white and blue jersey. Here is the player's account of the anecdote. "My father had many football shirts. There is a day in Denmark where every player wears a football team jersey to show solidarity for cancer research. The jersey of Lazio I chose it, he told me he bought it when he Lazio won the championship for the last time. Because of this story, it has become one of my favorite teams. For me, it is a dream to be here and become a player today".
Provision reaches his compatriot Isaac in the white and blue jersey and he is asked if the two have already spoken to each other to facilitate his integration into the team. In addition to this, the 2003-born boy was asked where he thinks he can improve on a tactical level. "I spoke with Isaac, he told me many positive things about Italy and especially about Rome. I spend a lot of time with him and he is also helping me a lot to find an apartment. He told me about the Serie A and he told me that there is a big difference between the two championships. It is a championship where there is more physicality and tactics, he has already given me some advice. I will have to work a lot on some aspects especially tactical ones".
The defense is one of the departments with the most experienced players and the player had a great impression of his teammates in the department. "There is a lot of competition, there are many important players, especially in my department. They welcomed me in the best way, they are experienced players. They want to teach me and are helping me a lot to integrate, they are always smiling with me. Even today Leg It helped me a lot because we were on the same team in training. I feel like I've been here for a long time, I have great respect for them and I love working with strong players to learn new things."
In the recent past there have been many Danish players, especially in defense, who have imposed themselves on other colleagues. A boy with an impressive physique, well over 1.90 meters tall, Provision he considers himself a modern defender. "My height? At the club I am registered as 1,94 cm tall, but in my passport I am 1,96 cm. My mother often tells me that I have grown up. Denmark has many very strong central defenders. I try to learn from them, I feel like a modern defender who likes to set up the game from the back. I feel physically strong and I can grow a lot".
Despite his impressive physique, there is still room for further improvement on an athletic level and the player is asked how much he feels he still has to grow to adapt to the Italian championship. "I came here with the awareness that I still have to become physically strong and I was already working on it in Denmark. Here in Serie A I feel I need to improve my strength level, I'm young and I'll have to be patient, I know I'm not perfect. I need to structure myself on a muscular level to better face the attackers in Serie A".
A young boy who is perhaps expected to take a leap into the unknown due to his prestige and the greatness of the opportunity for him: "It's a big step for my career. I understand it. I'm very happy to be here, it's my first time in Rome and I'm happy to stay here. I'm facing this adventure with optimism, I want to grow day after day. I'm young, but I have to learn the language and get to know my teammates better. I have to grow off the pitch too and by feeling good in the environment I'll be able to play with more confidence. I hope to become an important player for the Lazio".
In Denmark the championship has been stopped since December, so the player is asked how he feels physically while waiting for this adventure: "The championship was stopped in Denmark, but I'm very well physically and I feel in great condition. I'm ready to play and I'm convinced that I've arrived at the right time. I've trained for months and I've played for months. Obviously we haven't played league games recently, but we've played friendlies to stay physically fit. I've trained more this month than I have all season, I'm in great condition and I think I've arrived at the best time here at Lazio. I had a great preparation in Denmark and I'm ready to take the field."
The last question asks to Provision what is his approach to a team with so many fans as it is Lazio. "It's true that the passion of the fans can bring pressure. I think the fans push the players to play their best and the fans make the team perform better. The more fans there are the better, having so many fans and so much passion as there is here at Lazio It's only a good thing. The fans are very passionate and I can't wait to play. When you win they give you a lot, when you lose they always support you".
