Lecce Bologna ended goalless

Lecce, February 9, 2025 – The match at the Via del Mare between Lecce and Bologna ends goalless. The home team is dangerous on more than one occasion, with Skorupski being decisive in saving the rossoblù, who are practically never dangerous near Falcone.

Lecce is better

Giampaolo confirms Helgason in midfield while up front he dusts off Tete Morente from the 1st minute in the trident with Krstovic and Pierotti. Rotations for Italiano: Beukema and Holm out, Casale and De Silvestri are starters. Bologna gets off to a bad start: Lucumi and Lykogiannis clash in midfield favoring Pierotti's counterattack, ball in tow for Tete Morente who shoots with a sure shot finding the decisive save of Pobega. In the 18th minute a sensational double chance for Lecce: Lykogiannis slips and paves the way for Pierotti who tries to skip past Skorupski who however closes him down, on the rebound Helgason shoots but Skorupski outdoes himself again by deflecting the ball into a corner with his foot. Lecce did much better in the first half, in the 37th minute a dangerous cross directly from a free kick by Helgason: the rossoblù defense clears the threat. At half time it's 0-0.

It ends without a goal

Bologna also inattentive at the start of the second half: Pierotti's steal in midfield and immediate verticalization for Krstovic, but the pass is poorly measured and a potential 1 vs 0 for the Montenegrin striker fades away. In the 69th minute, the first offensive flash for the rossoblù: Ndoye accelerates on the right, enters the penalty area and serves Castro in the center of the area, who turns first intentionally but without putting any force into the conclusion. In the 83rd minute, Krstovic heads the ball for Karlsson's insertion: Skorupski is decisive, diving before him. Four minutes pass and Bologna sees their goal of the lead disallowed: Castro's header finds Dallinga quick to tap it in under the net, but the Dutch striker was offside by centimeters.
