Lecce, 3 September 2023 - Il Lecce defeated 2-0 Salernitana, in one of the two matches at 20pm on Sunday of the third day of Serie A. The goal of Kristovic in the 6th minute and the penalty kick Fatigue in the 98th minute they signed the debacle of Paulo's grenade Sousa, who remain stuck at two points in the standings. The people of Salento, on the other hand, fly at seven.

The starting lineups

Roberto D'Aversa he chooses the 4-3-3 at the start for his team Lecce. Falcone defends the posts, with Gendrey and Gallo on the side lanes of the four-e rearguard Pongracic and Baschirotto as central players. Rafia, Ramadani and Kaba form the midfield, while Almqvist, Kristovic and Banda make up the offensive trident. On the other side Paulo Sousa he prefers the three-man defense for the Salernitana. Ochoa he's the doorman, Lovato, Gyomber e Pyrola the three defenders. Castanos and Bradaric run on the two flanks across the pitch, Coulibaly and Legowski are the two midfielders. Cabral e Candreva they run in support of Bothheim, chosen as the sole striker.

First half

Il Lecce starts off at full speed, with good pressing and excellent intensity that take her by surprise Salernitana. In the second minute Gendrey on the wing he gets going and serves Kristovic, which carries out a backward bank for Ramadan, who is blocked in his attempt from outside. In the sixth minute it is precisely the axis between Gendrey e Kristovic to produce the opening goal: the right back brushes the ball into the area, the striker turns his head from a complex position and beats an innocent player Ochoa. Salentini immediately took the lead and the Granata were in great difficulty. The guests try to push around the tenth minute, when they decisively appear in the opponent's half of the pitch. Set pieces are a source of potential opportunities, but the Salernitana he can't grasp. Band in the 18th minute he forces Ochoa to a complex intervention, on a very powerful conclusion effectively rejected by the goalkeeper. Falcone he is called to intervene on a cross by bradaric, deviated from Gendrey, ending comfortably in his arms. The first attempt towards the goal had the same outcome Castanos, who in the 27th minute fails to give strength to his conclusion and makes life easy for the home goalkeeper. Candreva he has an interesting chance from a free kick on the half hour mark, but he wastes it by kicking very high. Kristovic two minutes later he comes back to sting with a dangerous head kick on an assist from Band, but the tip of the Lecce he only came close to doubling the score. However, Paulo's training is good Sousa, who despite the disadvantage pushes insistently. At minute 44 Candreva he finds himself face to face Falcone thanks to a perfect passage by Castanos: the Salento goalkeeper blocks with his leg and saves his team's lead, who go into the break ahead 1-0.

Second half

La Salernitana he hits the accelerator even at the start of the second half, in search of the goal that would equalize. Coulibaly in the 49th minute he only earned a corner kick on an attempted attack and this was the last highlight of his match. The Granata midfielder, in fact, was involuntarily hit in the face by an elbow from Band, loses blood and is replaced by his coach. Candreva he looks for a shot from his side in the 56th minute, when he takes a poisonous cross shot which however goes out wide. On the other side of the field, two minutes later, Band jump dry Lovato, support for Kaba and its conclusion is too weak to cause serious concern Ochoa, which is convenient. The guests risk ruining the match for themselves in the 65th minute: Mazzocchi misses a back pass, Band runs pressing and Ochoa must intervene with a providential exit to avoid worse troubles. The clock runs and Cabral hits the post squarely, with the goalkeeper already beaten. Cabral he is among the most active in this final: in the 76th minute he takes advantage of a support from Candreva to launch a fireball that the Lecce goalkeeper somehow rejects. Bohinen, as soon as he entered the pitch, he immediately wanted to become a protagonist: in the 79th minute he shot from twenty meters but without luck, with a small scare for the home team, now barricaded to defend the result. Now the Lecce he only acts as a throw-in, without being able to sting in the face of the ultra offensive pressing brought by the team Salernitana, all poured forward in search of the goal that would be worth the draw. Pongracic he heads the ball over the crossbar in the 81st minute, then Jovane Cabral he comes really close to scoring in the 87th minute. baschirotto loses a bloody ball, Bohinen he serves his teammate in the center who misses a penalty on the move by kicking to the stars, practically from the spot. The referee fuels the visitors' hopes of a draw by extending the match with eight additional minutes of injury time to the ninety minutes in regulation. In fact, the emotions certainly didn't end here. Ochoa returns to the spotlight in the 94th minute, when Almqvist forces him into a difficult intervention. The Salento players loudly call for a penalty kick after a handball by Cabral: Yes calls the referee who goes to the pitchside monitor to see the offending episode. The match director sees what happened and awards a penalty to the home team. Fatigue he appears from eleven meters and scores the final 2-0, which closes the match.
