Alex Jimenez and Chaka Traorè: the green line of the Rossoneri
Milan, 3 January – At Milanello the day after the winning the pass to the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup it is dedicated to the transfer market, a welcome return and the celebration of the young Rossoneri players who gave everything last night against Cagliari at San Siro where the Devil beat the rossoblù with a clear 4-1.
Milan 2.0
In yesterday's match against Cagliari for the round of 16 of the Italian Cup, Stefano Pioli opted for a formation that he offered rest to some key players, returning from an intense period, like Loftus-Cheek, Giroud or Kjaer, focusing on the young talents of Abate's Under 19 team: Jan-Carlo Simic he was deployed in the center of defense, while Alex Jiménez he played the role of left back. Chaka Traoré, another promising young player, was used in attack, always on the left out: Pioli's move proved to be strategic, demonstrating the depth and diversified strength of the Milanese team.
The match against the Sardinians marked Simic's first appearance as a starter with the first team, despite having already accumulated three appearances in Serie A, even scoring a goal on his debut against Monza. The real surprise of the evening, however, was represented by Jimenez, the young Spaniard born in 2005, who made his debut with the AC Milan of the greats: arrived in the summer from Real Madrid, showed an extraordinary personality and highlighted excellent skills on the left flank as well as an important offensive propensity.
His immediate impact and maturity on the pitch have been remarkable, proving a promising prospect for Milan and confirming the talent and commitment the club has invested in recruiting young talent.
The decision to deploy Chaka Traore instead of Leao in attack, he then gave the young Ivorian the chance to celebrate with his first goal among the greats also his first time as a starter. “I wanted to give my best and help the team, then the goal came… I still don't believe it”: this is how Traoré expressed his disbelief and joy, who then left the pitch for Leao.
Rafa, a long time admirer of the young man, he hugged and lifted Traoré in celebration of his positive performance. "We started a little slow, some guys were a little excited, but after the goal we loosened up – said Pioli at the end of the match – I'm happy with their performances. The youngsters have changed, now it's easier to train the more experienced ones : their attitudes give us hope, the youth sector has done a great job. As far as I'm concerned they can stay with us, so they will no longer be considered just options in an emergency, but alternatives started the right way."
Basket Market
Today is the day of Matteo gabbia: player, returned early from loan to Villarreal, is enthusiastic about his return to Milan and declared that he feels ready and motivated to face this new phase with the Rossoneri team, hoping to contribute positively to the team in the next six months. "The objective is to try to make the fans as happy as possible, we are trying to achieve great goals" are the words of the class of 1999 who will undergo the ritual medical examinations today before joining the Devil.
On the transfer front, Milan he is evaluating Verona defender Filippo Terracciano, joker can play both as a right and left back: yesterday at Casa Milan there was a meeting between the Rossoneri managers and the agent Andrea D'Amico and the club would be ready to beat the competition from Fiorentina who for the 2003 class have put 2,5 million euros on the table. However, uncertainty remains regarding the transfer price, leaving Milan with the possibility of considering internal alternatives, such as granting more space to Jimenez, in the event a satisfactory agreement is not reached.
Fenerbahce are interested in Krunic and offered him a three-year contract worth 3,5 million euros. Staying defensively, the club have explored the option of borrowing Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu from Arsenal, but it appears the Gunners are not keen on temporarily selling the players. Currently, attention is turning to Brest's Lilian Brassier, valued at around 10 million euros, considered as a more feasible option than Clement Lenglet, whose negotiation could present obstacles both in the agreements between Aston Villa and Barcelona and in terms of salary, as he can no longer benefit from the Growth Decree.
