Monza, Nesta sacked: Galliani chooses Bocchetti for the red and white bench
Deal closed with the former Verona player: contract until June 2027. The red and whites have won only one match so far and, after the defeat against Juventus, they are alone in last place

Monza, 23 December 2024 – The Monza has dismissed Alessandro Nesta and chosen, in its place, Salvatore Bocchetti, former Hellas Verona. "AC Monza announces that Salvatore Bocchetti is the new coach of the red and white First Team, with a contract until June 30, 2027", the note from the Brianza club.
Adriano Galliani, CEO, has chosen to exempt Alessandro Nesta after the last defeat with Juventus, arrived after four consecutive draws. Monza, in the championship, has won only one of the seventeen matches played and, thanks to Venezia's victory over Cagliari, is now alone at last, 5 points from safety.
So far the former Reggiana coach, who as a footballer has played with Lazio and Milann, as well as in the national team, he had been defended by Galliani, given the injuries and a not very incisive market. Today, however, the official announcement: "AC Monza announces that it has relieved Alessandro Nesta from his duties as coach of the First Team. The Club thanks the coach for what he has done so far and wishes him the best for the future".
