Kvara intrigue: PSG's offer, Napoli's response and the alternatives
The row over the Georgian, valued at no less than 90 million, is heating up. Paris is trying to bring in counterparts (Skriniar and Asensio), but De Laurentiis is holding back. The heirs: from Ndoye to Dorgu, passing through Chiesa and Zhegrova

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Ansa)
Naples, January 10, 2025 – Suddenly at home Napoli he's taking all the spotlight Khvisha Kvaratskhelia, and this time it's not about amazing plays or cinematic goals, for a repertoire shown off in particular in the first part of his experience in the shadow of Vesuvius: a market issue that apparently should be postponed to the summer, almost like an oxymoron, has flared up in the cold of midwinter, with the Paris Saint-Germain which, between a cash offer and the inclusion of some technical counterparts, seems to be serious about the Georgian, who in turn is increasingly distant from the blue world and its priorities Antonio Conte, in turn enchanted byto the exploit of David Neres. Between saying and doing there is a sea, which becomes an ocean when the obstacle is called Aurelio De Laurentiis, usually not used to letting the best players go halfway through the season: imagine with his team at the top of the table (net of the asterisks) and still fighting for the championship. However, what happened to Victor Osimhen, with several monstrous offers let slip before the situation became inexorably complicated, on the market and in the Azzurri locker room, has however set a precedent, leaving the patron an important lesson: questions of principle have their weight, but defending the health of one's creation has even more. Hence the desire to listen to the sirens of Paris, who had already sung to the rhythm of an even more tempting proposal in the summer (there was talk of 100 million). Today the sum has dropped, practically in proportion to the performance of Fourth, but the figure on the table remains interesting. As are any counter-proposals.
The figures and the reasons for the possible farewell
In principle, included in an offer from 80-90 million, there was talk of Milan Skriniar, who would thus fill the gap of the central defender that is much sought after on the market and who, therefore, is not necessarily Danilo. Then it was the turn of Marco Asensio, which would probably be less useful in the economy of the Italian chessboard but which remains an intriguing name. Probably, the priority of the headquarters of Castel Volturno there remains the cash, to be quantified as no less than 90 million, but as usual the market will set the real price. Always assuming that in the end this shock sale will go through. It is precisely the desire of the psg to cushion the expense by inserting technical counterparts, thus reducing the outlay to approximately 45 million, is putting the brakes on the issue despite the optimism professed in France on a negotiation rich in symbolic meanings. After having already said goodbye, more or less definitively, osimhen, Napoli could lose the other symbol of the Scudetto just now that the team has shown it has the strength and the mettle to return to fight for that objective there in the aftermath of the disappointing season that ended in tenth place. Let's put aside superstition, also to follow the Tale thought that detaches the project from any individuality, the Azzurri are ready to take this step that is probably considered healthy for everyone. First of all for the club's coffers: saying no to an offer like that for a strong player who has probably already reached the limit of his full maturity could be the classic mistake that will be regretted later. Then there is, in fact, the desire to Tale, since last June a sort of manager rather than a simple coach: between almost punitive substitutions and increasing benching, the Georgian does not seem to be at the centre of the thoughts of the Salento coach. Then there are kvaratskhelia and that contract whose expiry date is still quite far away (30 June 2027) but with a fragile economic status, especially when compared to what the player and his entourage's appetites have become practically the day after the Scudetto.
Possible substitutes
The 'yes' party to the transfer, while presenting many valid arguments despite exactly half of the championship still to be played, however, comes up against the unknown of the possible replacement of a player who is important from a charismatic point of view. Having said that the probable replacement on the field is Napoli, with Neres, he already has it in his hands, for each release, as per the diktat of Tale, there will be an entrance. Just think about what is happening in midfield: go Michael Folorunsho, virtually already for days of the Fiorentina, and inside Philip Billing, the surprise profile of origin Bournemouth ready to arrive with the loan formula with right of redemption set between 9 and 10 million and with the salary paid in full until the end of June. The first name in the sights of the Napoli è Edon Zhegrova, but dealing with the Lille, as they well know in the parts of Castel Volturno, it's not exactly a walk in the park: the price is around 25 and 30 millioni, not exactly a light figure in January. The other main suggestion leads to Federico Chiesa that however, despite a complicated start, the Liverpool he doesn't want to let go. The same goes for Dan ndoye of the Bologna e Patrick Dorgu of the Lecce, while Mathias Soulé, never the protagonist of the Rome, seems the most achievable today but perhaps the one that convinces the blue control center the least. So, everything postponed until the summer? Not really, because the possible injection of so much cash into the coffers of the Neapolitan club, a good part of which must be reinvested immediately so as not to displease Tale, could shake the positions of the clubs mentioned above, which however, in turn, precisely because of the awareness of the resources available to the counterpart, could haggle a lot on the price. A surprise name cannot be excluded, perhaps not very suggestive but promising and futuristic, as eo tempore was kvaratskhelia, thus marking a sort of return to the origins of that scouting of the Napoli who until a few transfer sessions ago was the envy of everyone. The Georgian himself is the emblem of all this: the same player today apparently surprisingly taking a farewell step.
