Parma-Bologna, Chivu talks to his players (Ansa)
Parma, 22 February 2025 – One goal per half is enough for Parma to beat the Bologna on the day of firsts: victory on debut for Christian Chivu on the bench of the dukes, first defeat in 2025 for the team of Vincenzo ItalianoIn the first half, Bonny broke the deadlock with a penalty, in the second half, Sohm closed it down on the counterattack.
Bonny on penalty
In his first match on the Parma bench, Chivu chooses Bonny at the centre of the attack with Cancellieri and Almqvist on his sides, Man starts out. Italiano instead bets on Cambiaghi in place of Dominguez, with Castro and Ndoye confirmed in attack. The pace is high right from the start, even though the home team loses Bernabè to injury after just 3': a forced substitution. There are few goal-scoring opportunities, but after half an hour the episode changes the script: Bonny stops in the penalty area and passes to Almqvist who is intercepted by Beukema with his arm. Abisso gets a penalty: Bonny takes the spot kick anyway, Ravaglia is wrong-footed and Parma is ahead. Bologna raises its centre of gravity in search of an equaliser but struggles to worry Suzuki, except with a header from Ndoye in injury time: all in vain, however, as the Swiss was offside.
Chivu wins on debut
The script in the second half doesn't change, Bologna takes control of the game and attacks while Parma defends and restarts. Abisso's management of the cards isn't impeccable: Cancellieri risks expulsion twice, but is pardoned and so Chivu calls him back to the bench in the 65th minute before it's too late. New arrival Orsolini tries to shake up his team in the 71st minute: a left-footed shot from outside the area that ends up high. In the 79th minute Parma doubles: Lykogiannis falls asleep, Man takes advantage and starts a counterattack and serves Sohm, who stops and crosses the left-footed shot from the home midfielder that beats Ravaglia. The rossoblù never manage to shoot on goal, the last chance falls in full recovery on Fabbian's head: high. Parma wins 2-0!
