È Christian Chivu the new coach of ParmaThe former Inter defender of the Treble has signed a contract valid until 30 June 2026 and will replace the sacked Fabio Pecchia relieved of his duties on Monday. This is his first time at the helm of the first team of a club Serie A for the Romanian coach who until now had only coached at youth level, going through the entire Inter ranks starting from the under 14s in the 2018-19 season up to leading the Primavera in 2021-22, with which he immediately managed to win the championship.
Now the former Inter player, who already led the first training session with the team yesterday, will be called upon to face the difficult (but not impossible) task of leading the dukes towards the safe haven of salvation, reviving the fortunes of a team coming off disappointing performances, with the Crociati having collected just one victory in the last eleven matches played, slipping to third-last position with only twenty points.
On the road to Chivu, however, on Saturday at 15pm there will be the first mountain to climb, with the dukes engaged in the very delicate Emilian derby against Bologna, the rossoblù are fighting for a place in the European zone and are going through a period of form that is diametrically opposed to that of the dukes, having lost only one match in the last twelve days of the championship.
