Parma, 20 April 2025 - The match between Parma and Torino will close the 33rd matchday of Serie A. Parma e Juventus, a match that historically smiles on the Bianconeri. The dukes have not beaten the Old Lady since 2015, but have found a solid identity, demonstrated by five consecutive draws. The dukes have an excellent performance against the "big" teams: in fact, they have won 16 points against the teams in the upper part of the table, second only to Como among the "small" teams, and have remained unbeaten in the last four of these matches. The numbers on set pieces tell of an interesting tactical challenge: the yellow and blue team is the team that scores most often from corners in percentage (22%, eight goals out of 37), while Madama is the team that suffers the most in proportion (20%, six out of 30). The scorers are also distributed in a similar way: 16 different ones for Parma, 15 for Juventus, confirming a choral game on both sides. With the arrival of Tudor Igor, the Turin team has raised the intensity, resulting in the most high interruptions of the opposing sequences in the last three days. A challenge within the challenge will be that of Vlahovic, who has never scored in Serie A against Parma, one of the few teams missing from his collection.

Previous

Parma have won just one of their last 15 Serie A matches (D4 L10) against Juventus, a 1-0 win at the Tardini in April 2015 (with Josè Mauri scoring the winning goal). Furthermore, the Emilians have conceded 97 goals against the Bianconeri in the tournament: only against Roma have they conceded more (100). The Ducali drew the first leg (2-2) of this season against the Old Lady; the Gialloblu could remain unbeaten in both Serie A matches against the Bianconeri for the first time in the competition since 2010/11 (two wins in that case). Madama have scored at least two goals in each of their last four matches against Parma in Serie A; the Bianconeri have never scored more than one goal in five consecutive matches against the Gialloblu (also four between 2007 and 2010 and between 2002 and 2004). Juventus have won their last two games against Parma in the second half of the season in Serie A and have only once achieved three wins in a row against the Gialloblu in the second half of the season, between 1994 and 1996. Parma have drawn 10 home games against Juventus in Serie A (7W, 9L), only against Fiorentina (12) have they collected more home draws in the competition. Madama have won their last three away games against Parma in Serie A - already a record for the Bianconeri on the Emilian pitch in the top flight: it is the longest open streak of consecutive away wins for the Piedmontese, considering the teams in this championship (three also against Como and Udinese).

Chivu's words

"Since I arrived I have said that there would be 13 finals, now there are six left - says Cristian Chivu - We are always ready to think of these games as finals also because our job has always been to put it into the players' heads that we should play them, these games are truly finals. Our main goal is to play a good game, to get a result. To the fans, since it is so heartfelt, I would like to give them a nice gift. We are building the mentality of approaching the games in the right way, of preparing them well, of treating them all as if they were finals, regardless of the opponent we face. Then obviously facing Inter, facing Juve, facing Milan or other teams of a certain calibre, especially for the fans, becomes a much more heartfelt game. Against Juventus we would be happy to give them a good game with a good performance. Juve has a squad, a team that, regardless of the names they put on the field, has a quality that always remains the same. Lately they have played a much more direct game, they put much more intensity and they have the qualities to do so, both up front, but they also manage to create some overlaps and a numerical superiority, putting the opponent in difficulty. We must always be ready and prepared to maintain our density, attention and have many references up front so that we can also close some passing lanes, and then go and develop our game. Which player would I take away from Juve? I don't waste energy thinking about who is and who isn't there. They have a squad that can overcome any absence they might have, we don't care much about that. Obviously they have quality players up front, but even those who come in, in my opinion, don't have less quality. We are thinking about what we have to do, about preparing for the match, understanding the moments and trying to overcome them with clarity and serenity. We are also trying to think about what our maneuver is and the consistency we have to give during the 100 minutes of a match."

The Tudor Conference

"We've had a long week of work and that's positive, we've worked well, to prepare ourselves as best as possible for all the pitfalls that a team that is doing well can throw at us: we expect a difficult match - says Tudor - From the point of view of injuries, in addition to Mbangula e Cats, we had some small problems for Star (bruise) and koopmeiners (in the tendon). We will evaluate them both tomorrow, especially for Teun his presence is at risk. The dead balls? We are obviously focusing on this aspect, but it must be said that from a certain point of view this problem is also physiological, we lack a bit of experience and malice, and on details like set pieces you risk paying for it. So we are working to accelerate the growth, the lads are aware and very available. In general I see that the team is growing, they have raised the intensity in the defensive phase, especially when we defend high. But the positive thing is that there is a desire to be aggressive in compactness. I therefore expect a serious match, in which we will do what we have prepared: Parma showed with Inter that they are a team to be taken with caution, we must not make any mistakes, because they deserved to take that 2-2. The input that Vlahovic always has is to stay in the game, whatever happens. He is a complete player, as confirmed by the two assists, which were much appreciated by the whole team and the goal will come. Nico Gonzalez? A sunny, eager boy, he loves football and being in a group, he has a positive mentality, which is good for everyone, he knows how to play in two or three roles and also has room for growth: it's nice to have a boy like that in the group. Veiga is a quick-thinking player: he has a good future ahead of him, and it all depends on him. 'Ferryman' is a word I don't like. The life of a coach is often decided in a few games, alone, without planning, because the future is built from game to game. And I live this way, taking lessons from the past and then stopping to think about it, and without anxiety about the future".
