Hippodrome. The horse... Favorite won. The contenders ridden by two brothers

Favorite (M. Sanna) won the "Arnino" prize hat trick, 1500 metres, scheduled yesterday at theSan Rossore racecourse. The winner beat Fair Angel by a narrow nose; in third place High Sport. Winning combination: 10-3-1. The race, with ten horses in the starting boxes, had Dragomanno as the favourite but the horse collapsed halfway down the straight, leading to the arrival in a close photo (curious detail, the two contending horses were ridden by the brothers Mario and Gavino Sanna).

The weekday afternoon of ran gallop, on a beautiful sunny day and on ground that had returned to perfect condition after too much rain in the past week, was largely dedicated to the western part of our territory. Among the races present in the rest of the program, the Premio Basilica di San Piero, a handicap over 1200 meters, and the Premio Boccadarno, a handicap over 2000 meters, stood out. In the Premio Basilica di San Piero six colts competed, two of which came from Rome as horses to beat, but the favorite Territory had to give way to Twilight Ballet (G. Sanna).

Eight horses at the start in the test for older horses, a handicap that saw the presence of a great 'decayed', such as Shark Alert, who enjoyed an interesting weight. And in fact the horse was elected favorite of the race but was beaten by Elegant Drago (S. Saiu). Worth mentioning at the opening of the conference is the Domenico Arnaldi prize, 1300 meters, dedicated to a gentleman rider who has marked the history of the category by winning 309 races, 10 of which over obstacles. Clear success for Drag Lift (G. Perugini).

We return to racing on Sunday with a meeting of great interest thanks to the three major hurdling prizes of the meeting. There are also numerous collateral initiatives for the public promoted by the company: from the presence of an illusionist on the parterre during the races to the celebrations for the first day of carnival by giving cotton candy to the children who will show up in costumes at the racecourse.
