Pisa-Mantova, the teams on the field

Pisa, 16 March 2025 – The defeats against Sassuolo and Spezia are behind. “We can't wait to get back to winning ways,” Inzaghi declared, and so it was. Pisa beat Mantua 3-1 at home, increasing the gap on D'Angelo's team, which now has five points and arrives at the break in the best possible shape. The stage is back Sunsets after two lackluster performances with a great brace (one goal with the right, one with the left). All interspersed with Caracciolo's goal from a corner kick. It is the applause and a newfound confidence that accompany Pisa's exit from the field.

The game starts as expected. The Mantova tries to make the game, while Pisa has only one interest: to press very high. Lind chases everyone, even the goalkeeper, looking for the error in disengagement. The game is wide open from the start. Bonacina cautions Caracciolo after five minutes for a foul in midfield on Mensah, then the first conclusions arrive: Festa is called first to stretch out a header from Angori, served by Morutan with his left foot, then on the developments of the corner kick Bonfanti he kicks with his left foot, but finds his shot blocked.

The game was unlocked in the 12th minute. Piccinini attempted a foray into the area but the defense attempted to block it. The quickest to pick up the ball was Tramoni, who kicked first time crossing with his right foot from the edge and beat Party. Tenth goal of the season for the Pisa star, who redeems himself after the various wasted opportunities in the double match against Sassuolo and Spezia. This time too, however, the first shot conceded is fatal for Inzaghi's team. Giordano starts from the left and puts a ball in the middle, Anchoring, called to the defensive diagonal slips, favoring Mensah who serves Mancuso.

The attacker doesn't make mistakes one-on-one with Semper. The hosts react immediately, with the number 3, whose conclusion ends up wide. A play between Tramoni and Angori at the half hour mark leads to a cross to the far post for Touré, who heads high. Mantua is fired up after having reached the equaliser, and in the 34th minute on a free kick Solini heads wide. After two minutes Paoletti he gets to the shot again, demonstrating how the guests have raised their center of gravity, but the ball ends up very high. Piccinini's shot in the last action of the first half, which ends after a minute of recovery, had the same outcome.

Mantua started strong at the beginning of the second half, and Mancuso finds the conclusion immediately, rejected. Pisa responds and after a minute Lind, launched in depth, kicks wide with his left. In the 48th minute the Nerazzurri regain the advantage: Caracciolo is very good at heading, taking advantage of the corner taken by Morutan to come out with his left. The ball is stretched, hits the post and enters the goal. The Nerazzurri find new vigor, the counterattacks are often launched by Bonfanti. On the developments of a corner kick he caused Sunsets from outside the area with his left foot, with Festa responding.

Number 11 is the protagonist of a great opportunity in the 53rd minute: Piccinini, launched by Morutan, crosses a ball that Tramoni fails to put in the goal with his left foot. Pisa in the 61st minute complains of a penalty for a handball in the penalty area Redolfi. The ball, however, hits the defender's head first: the VAR thus considers the touch legal. In the 66th minute Sernicola kicks softly with his right foot. The game stops for a couple of minutes because Lind, in a clash with a defender, remains on the ground. Mantova he shows up again in the 74th minute. Radaelli cuts behind the defense and collects a long-range pass. He misses the target with his left foot. In the 75th minute it is Moreo's turn to return to the field, to the applause of the crowd. A few minutes later Tramoni comes very close to a hat-trick: Moreo crosses for Touré at the far post.

The German puts the ball in the middle for number 11, but Festa makes a great save. Moreo is always decisive in terms of balls served: the outside touch finds Lind's head, who hits it out. Mantua ends with ten men: bonacina has no doubts in sending off Paoleti, guilty of a sliding tackle on Marin from behind. The player accepts the decision. Pisa ends the match on the attack, without finding the fourth goal, but the applause of the fans.
