A few hours later, the four Pisa first team players called up during this break for the national teams took to the field. Or rather, not all of them took to the field. Samuele Angori remained on the bench for ninety minutes. The Nerazzurri full-back was not sent onto the field by the Italy under-21 coach Carmine Nunziata in the friendly match lost by the Azzurrini against their peers from Holland, who finished the match with nine men, 2-1 in Venice.

In his place, Turicchia of Juventus Next Gen was preferred (ten appearances in this Serie C season, after having played the first half with Catanzaro). The second match of this break for Angori, at his first call-up with the under-21s, is scheduled for tomorrow at 18:15 at the "Tombolato" in Cittadella against Denmark. Broadcast live by Rai2, it is the last friendly before the European Championships scheduled for June, in which the Pisa player hopes to participate.

Moving on to the other players, Marin, Rus and Morutan were busy in the first matchday of Group H of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. An unlucky match for Romania, who lost 1-0 at home to Bosnia. Marin has now become a fixture for his national team, and was deployed as a starter, in the heart of the Romanian 4-3-3 midfield. Morutan, on the other hand, returning after the injury that forced him to miss the European Championship last summer, came on during the second half.

Ninety minutes on the bench for Adrian Rus.

A match that left a bitter taste in the mouth for the technical commissioner Lucescu, who was a former coach of Pisa: "General sadness, we would have liked to start this journey with a victory. We deserved it: we dominated categorically" he declared in a press conference.

The journey of the three Nerazzurri players in the hope of qualifying for the World Cup thus got off to a bad start, in a group that also included Austria, Cyprus and San Marino.

This last team will be the next opponent, in the challenge scheduled for tomorrow evening.
