Racecourse show. Races for Ciardelli and Macchi

In the race that is dedicated to him today San Rossore, among the eight horses competing over 1400 meters, the top weight Misstep has references that assign her the role of favorite. Other important events will mark this afternoon of racing. Starting with a race dedicated to a never forgotten character: Angiolo Macchi. Historic pharmacist of Pontasserchio, for many years he was the owner of the combative Azzurra stable. The maiden over 1750 that will bear his name sees eleven fillies at the start with Allenwood, seen in order, who could place her cue. A tradition in the program of the San Rossore racecourse is the race dedicated to who best represents sport in all its expressions starting with fair play: the Panathlon Club International. As has been the case for many years, on Sunday both the Pisa and Valdarno Inferiore delegations will be represented in a single race – a 1200-meter race. Flymaker is the horse to beat.

From a technical point of view, the most unusual element of the festive meeting is the 3000-meter race, awarded by Multirent Italia, a sponsor of the Pisan gallop for many years. Rock Life is the favorite, but other subjects, trusting in the aptitude for the probable state of the very loose terrain, aim to overturn the prediction of this marathon. As in past editions, the Equestrian Palio of the Municipalities, scheduled for March 30, will have two preliminary days: one was on February 23, the other is today.

Residents of the municipalities of the province who have joined the event, showing a document at the cash desk, will have the opportunity to enter the racecourse with the special 1 euro ticket, exclusive to this initiative. Each presence will score 1 point in favor of their Municipality. The sum of the residents' presences will give rise to a ranking based on which the municipalities themselves will choose the horse that will represent them in the qualifying heats and, if they have been skilled in their choice, also in the final on Sunday 30.
