William Viali remains in his position. Romano Amadei he is convinced that the technician has what it takes to bring the salvation la Reggiana. The owner said it to the coach himself at the end of the match with Sampdoria and reiterated it yesterday to president Carmelo Salerno and vice president Giuseppe Fico, who had some doubts about whether to continue with the Fiorenzuola coach. But it is also an indirect response to the fans (many) who booed Viali on Sunday and to the many who in the last few hours on social media have called for the head of the trainer. It has been a long time since we saw such widespread hostility towards a Reggiana coach in Reggio. But we are moving forward with Viali, then. Amadei made some considerations: the first is that Reggiana would be safe today and only on one occasion during the season has it been in the play-out zone. And the owner knows very well that he has not assembled a battleship, but a team capable of reaching safety, but certainly not without some worries. So Viali is in line with the plans. The second is that the coach has the team on his side (let's forget about some grumbling that is normal in any locker room since not everyone can play), the third is that Viali (who has also made his mistakes) has already experienced very complicated situations in his career with goals achieved even at the photo finish (twice except in the play-out). Ergo: he has the personality and the curriculum to get Reggiana out of trouble. Three considerations that have not made him have any doubts about continuing the race with Viali. Then there is the fact that there are only eight days left until the end of the championship: a risk to overturn the technical guidance, because the eventual new staff would have very little time to put their playing ideas into practice. Yes, it's true, a new coach can give the 'whiplash', but he must have a great personality and on the market there are not many coaches of great caliber. And if they are there, they want a salary of a certain level and, above all, a contract for next year that Reggiana cannot guarantee at this time, given that Amadei has expressed his intention to pass the baton. It's all too complicated: better to stay as it is, the final consideration of the owner, who has always been reluctant to change the coach on the fly. Viali, who is convinced he can lead Reggiana to safety, will therefore remain on the bench for all eight days that remain from now until the end. The same decision that Mantova reiterated yesterday with Possanzini: you don't change.
