A look at coaches without a bench. From Andreazzoli to Dionigi: many coaches are out of work. But here's why changing isn't easy

Fire Viali. It can happen. But then? Find a quality coach who agrees to come to eight days...

Sack Viali. That's fine. But then? Will you find a coach of substance who agrees to come with eight days to go to a club that, as we all know, is up for sale and therefore doesn't guarantee you another year of contract?

Difficult. Very difficult. Unless we're talking about technicians who are desperately looking for a relaunch because they've been stuck for a while.

We tried to take a look at the free coaches and, honestly, there is very little on the market. Even if there are really dozens and dozens of coaches out there.

Here, however, is a list of technicians without a bench.

In anagraphic order: Aurelio Andreazzoli, 71 years old, formerly of Empoli. A coach with great experience and personality, but also very 'expensive' and Reggiana's wallet, as we all know, is empty at the moment.

Among the 60 year olds here Pasquale Marino (64, last year a spell at Bari), Davide ballardini (61, last experience at Sassuolo), Beppe Iachini (60, last bracket at Bari) and Massimo Carrera placeholder image (60, ex Ascoli).

POI Robert Venturato (61), formerly of Spal and a lifetime at Cittadella, but has been out of action since 2022.

Among the fifty-year-olds: Vincenzo Vivarini (59), recently at Frosinone and Catanzaro (in the last few hours there have even been rumours about Modena for him), but also Marco Zaffaroni (56, ex South Tyrol) and Eugenio Corini (54, ex Cremonese and Palermo).

There are also Alfredo Aglietti (54, ex Lecco), Giovanni Martusciello (53, ex Salernitana), Andrea Subtil (51, ex Sampdoria) and Edoardo Gorini (51, former Citadel).

There would also be the Reggio Emilia one David Dionysius (51), repeatedly linked to the Granata in the past, but has been out since 2022 (Cosenza).

Among the 50-year-olds, a suggestion from the fans, who have always esteemed him: Beppe Science (58, in the photo), however stopped since 2021 (Pro Vercelli and before, among others, Monopoli), who is now dedicating himself to youth football.

Among the youngest (Viali turned 50 in November; Nesta arrived in Reggio at 47) here is Gabriele Cioffi (49, ex Udinese), Fabio Liverani (48, ex Salernitana), Alberto Aquilani (40, ex Pisa) and, but here we go into science fiction, Andrea Pirlo, 45 years old, formerly of Sampdoria.

Please note: coaches fired in Serie B after December 20th will not be able to return to coaching this season (see, for example, Max Alvini fired on February 26th).
