As happened in the two previous occasions, the black-greens win after a defeat. The league leaders proved to be mentally on point despite the heavy absences.

by Stefano FoglianiSASSUOLORestarting was a must, and the Sassuolo he did not shirk the same obligation, chasing away the ghosts that the stop of the 'Picco' had made hover over the Mapei Football Center. Following the – albeit painful – success on Juve Stabia (photo), more than the clean sheet found, which also counts, this is the salient fact with which the leaders in black and green archives day number 24. Because when you are not used to losing, dealing with defeat inevitably becomes more difficult, and among the possibilities of getting up immediately and managing to do so there are a lot of pitfalls that you do not expect, even from the point of view of the 'head'. Pitfalls always avoided, however, up to now, by Sassuolo, who this time like others - not so many, in reality: the team of Grosso he lost three games, that is one out of eight played – he did what was needed. With a performance, let's admit it, not very solid, but cynical enough and in its own way sure enough to consolidate a standings who still has a lot to say, but today gives important certainties to the black-greens. Among these, precisely, that of being able to react to what goes wrong: it happened in August, after Cremonese thrashed the black-greens at home, it happened again at the end of the year, after the defeat in Pisa, and the third clue is the league leaders Fabio Grosso provided it on Saturday afternoon, sending a message to the pursuers that sounds more or less like 'Sassuolo sometimes loses, but it doesn't get lost'. A nice injection of confidence, the prompt restart, especially considering the moment, not brilliant, of the neroverdi, and added that against Juve Stabia the absences of Romagna, Thorstvedt and Pierini have inevitably weakened a squad that remains extra-luxury but when the big names are missing, at least in terms of play, it cannot help but pay the price. The 2-0 inflicted on the Campanians, in short, certifies the stature, even mental, of the league leaders, and is a mortgage, precedents in hand, on what is to come, or could come. Because after losing against Cremonese, it was the end of August, the neroverdi have put together a positive series of 14 games and 38 points that have taken them from thirteenth to first place. After the stop in Pisa, instead, three victories in a row that had sent Pisa to -5 and Spezia to -10. Then there was the stop at Picco, and we are at the very recent news, which was followed by the worries of the case. To which Sassuolo responded again. Winning. And providing the championship with that third clue that in the best 'yellows' makes a test, but to win the championship is not enough. The road is long, in short, but better to be chased than to chase.
