The Lipani cousins celebrate two promotions: Luca with Sassuolo in Serie A and Iacopo with Virtus Entella in Serie B.

Lipani, in this spring of 2025, is synonymous with promotion. Yes: the promotion of the Sassuolo brought the black and green back to Serie A Luca Lipani, and this is a well-known story in these parts; less so is the promotion of the other professional Lipani footballer, namely Iacopo, Luca's cousin, who also achieved a promotion on Saturday, a few hours after his cousin's apotheosis in Sassuolo, in Serie B with the Virtus Entella, winner of the Serie C championship group B with three days to spare before the end of the regular season.

Two special promotions, Luca's obtained from the couch, thanks to Mantova's draw with Spezia, and Iacopo's from the field, but before even playing - he found out about Luca's promotion through social media - thanks to the victory obtained by Milan Futuro against Ternana, a team in second place in the standings, with the final result of 1-0.

Born in Genoa, both central midfielders, both with a defensive predisposition on the pitch, the Lipani cousins grew up on bread and football: Iacopo, with his 24th birthday yet to be celebrated (he will celebrate it exactly next week) is the older of the two, while Luca will turn 20 in May. For Iacopo, so far there have been 31 league appearances with Entella, while Luca has made 17 appearances with Sassuolo, the latter embellished by a non-trivial goal, having been scored in the first leg of the derby against Modena.

So, in the Lipani family, who had a weekend that was hard to forget, we can dust off the slogan in macaronic English from an old commercial: two (the promotions) is mei che one.
