Bologna, 9 January 2025 – The January transfer market is commonly called the “repair market”, as clubs intervene in uncovered roles or simply shore up some departments, with smaller deals than those that occur in the summer transfer market. However, especially in recent years, this trend seems to be changing, as demonstrated by some transfers that have occurred in recent winter markets. Many teams now anticipate big moves already in the winter market, both to cushion the price and to anticipate the competition and avoid the auctions that can break out in the summer. Furthermore, other clubs already move in the January transfer market to sell their players and avoid losing them at a reduced price in the summer session. Also in Serie A, as in other leagues, there have been excellent purchases and sales during the winter market, with the top ten featuring both champions and surprises. In tenth place in this special ranking is Hidetoshi nakata, which in January 2000 passed from Perugia to the Rome for approximately 21,6 million euros. He remained with the Giallorossi until July 2001, when he was sold to Parma for 28,4 million. In ninth place, instead, is Adriano, who returned to the'Inter for approximately 23,4 million euros, after having moved to Parma in the summer of 2002. In eighth place there is a much more recent purchase: it is Eljif Diamond, moved from Napoli al Leipzig for 24 million euros, while in seventh place is Krzysztof Piatek, who left the company on January 30, 2020 Milan to move to theHerta Berlin for 24 million euros. The sixth and fifth places see the Genoa as the protagonist: in sixth position there is Radu Dragusin, who has been a player of the Tottenham after the payment of 25 million euros by the English to the griffin, and the fifth is there Nicolo Rovella, now a midfielder for Lazio, but which in January 2021 was purchased by Juventus for 26 million, even though he decided to leave him at Genoa until the end of the season. In fourth place is Juan Cuadrado, passed by Fiorentina al Chelsea in the winter market of the 2014-15 season for 31 million. At the foot of the podium there is again Friday, with the transfer from Genoa al Milan in January 2019 for 35 million euros, while the first two positions see two purchases from Juventus. In second place is Dejan Kulusevski with the transition fromAtalanta to the Juventus for 39 million euros in 2020, while the first one is Dusan Vlahovic, who became a Juventus player in January 2022 after paying 83,5 million to Fiorentina.
