There is something tender about Denmark. Dad Schmeichel interviews his son

Among the many stories that the European is offering us in recent weeks, there is a beautiful one, from Libro Cuore. Where pride, love, admiration and a pinch of nostalgia intertwine. A father (Danish football legend) interviewing his son, who has followed in his footsteps and achieved other successes. The first is Peter Schmeichel, former number one for Manchester United and Denmark (with whom he won the 1992 continental championship), the other is the 37-year-old Kasper (also a goalkeeper, among the great protagonists of Leicester's Premier League triumph in Ranieri in 2016), who never imagined having to answer his (visibly emotional) parent's questions. It happened at the end of the surprising draw between Denmark and England, when Schmeichel senior, one of the Fox Sport correspondents, found himself with the microphone in his hand in front of a not just any footballer (and protagonist of the match).

In a joint Instagram "story" showing them together before the match, the current Danish national team goalkeeper wrote: "It doesn't happen that often." His father replied "Fantastic", wishing him a good match.

Then the two inevitably found themselves in front of the cameras, where dad Peter began by saying "Well played match", asking the questions to Kasper who answered. In the end the old Schmeichel, moved, confessed live: "I do a lot of interviews with the players after the match, but something so beautiful has never happened."

Before saying goodbye, 60-year-old Peter hugged his son with great spontaneity. Kasper smiled and gave the shirt to his father, obviously very happy. And with a few tears rolling down his face.
