Cristian Spini scores his first goal against Spal, but Pontedera snatches a draw
Spini's first goal is not enough for Spal to win against Pontedera. The striker reflects on the match and the coach's confidence.

Chants, flags and passion: SPAL's support
Cristian Spini's first goal in white and blue wasn't enough for Spal to earn three points against Pontedera. A beautiful and important goal, because it had unlocked the result after 35 minutes of a good first half by Baldini's team, who immediately afterwards however were hit and sunk by the now traditional sleep on the developments of a corner. "I'm happy for my first goal with Spal, but there is clearly the disappointment of having conceded the equaliser immediately afterwards. These things can happen, even if we are aware that it would be better if they didn't happen. It's a shame, because we showed off a good performance, indeed a great team effort, so there's no point in attributing blame for not being able to win this time either". It's the second consecutive match as a starter for the winger from Trapani, who is carving out an important space for himself in mister Baldini's chessboard. "I'm happy with the coach's confidence," Spini continued. "I'm sure he chooses who to field based on who is doing better, but I'm clearly happy that he's using me consistently. Going back to the match against Pontedera, we played well but we know that what we're doing isn't enough. We need to keep working as we're doing, but we need more determination, because despite all our efforts the three points still haven't arrived. The formation? I like the trident, I feel comfortable on the right side of the attack, but I have no problem contributing with other playing systems. The retreat before the match against Legnago Salus? I think it helped us to consolidate the group. Now we're more united, more of a team. The retreat certainly didn't do us any harm. But now we need to stay on track, until we're safe."
