Module, Baldini seeks the ideal set-up. With Legnago an offensive Spal
With the 4-2-3-1, Molina and Karlsson would compete for the centre-forward role, with Antenucci or Parigini as second striker.

A year ago, after the dismissal of mister Colucci, Mimmo Di Carlo returned to Ferrara proposing an extremely offensive 4-4-2 that ultimately proved to be effective even in the defensive phase. That playing system highlighted the characteristics of a series of players who dragged the Spal to safety. There are very few coaches who – at least in words – consider the module to be fundamental, even if everyone has their own preferences. Mister Baldini he is traditionally considered a 4-3-3 coach: he arrived in white and blue with this label, but faced with the problems manifested by his team he repeatedly tried to change the formation. With the (disastrous) results that we know well. Before the away match in Piancastagnaio, he had stated that he had tried practically everything. With the exception of 3-5-2, which worked on the Pianese pitch but did not produce the desired effects in the following matches. Also because in the face of certain carelessness and embarrassing individual errors there is no module that holds up. Half an hour into the first half, two goals down, in Pineto mister Baldini redesigned the team with 4-2-3-1, with D'Orazio and Rao as attacking wingers, and Parigini behind Molina.
The situation has improved significantly, but it should be considered that there was nothing left to lose and the home team had lowered their centre of gravity. However, this is a set-up that the coach could take into consideration in view of the match against Legnago, also because they will have to win at all costs. Maybe by attacking the opponent from the start, without waiting to go behind. With 4-2-3-1 – or 4-4-2, the difference would be very little – Molina and Karlsson would compete for the role of centre forward, while the second striker could be one between Antenucci and Parigini.
On the right, there could be room for D'Orazio, also because Spini is playing with an eyedropper. If the 3-5-2 is confirmed, the offensive tandem would probably be formed by one between Molina and Karlsson with Parigini in support. As for the defense, a three-man line would force the coach to send Bruscagin, Nador and Bassoli onto the field, because Fiordaliso is suspended and Arena is half-fit. Switching to a four-man line would mean having a few more choices, but due to their characteristics, the defenders available seem more suited to playing with three. No one has a magic wand, the white and blue blanket is short from any side you look at it: more than the module, mister Baldini must look at his players and choose those who have the hunger necessary to win a match like this.
