Spal, today the official exclusion of the FIGC. Two alternatives to work, but it depends on Joe
If Tacopina gives up, the doors to bankruptcy and a new tender will open for the interested groups: the X Martiri group and that of Mattioli

Tacopina and his partner Follano have not yet explained their intentions, thus keeping the fate of Spal and its employees in suspense
It is the day of the FIGC Federal Council, which will sanction the exclusion of Spal from professional football. After having sent incomplete and therefore inadmissible the application for registration to the Serie C championship and having received the inevitable rejection by Covisoc, the white and blue club awaits the verdict of the Football Federation with the resignation of those who have already lost hope for some time. Ownership and management have also decided to renounce the possibility of presenting the appeal to the Coni Guarantee Board, taking note of the situation and the impossibility of winning it. Around via Copparo now they are mainly waiting for Joe Tacopina's decision: pull the plug by taking the road to bankruptcy or keep the company afloat with the hope of selling it later and starting again from an amateur championship not better specified? No one at Spal is committing themselves, and they don't even know what to hope for. Also because if on the one hand the fans hope for the club's bankruptcy, on the other hand the employees and creditors look at this prospect with a certain fear.
Two important and delicate issues are closely tied to this choice: the Mazza stadium and Fabbri sports center convention contracts and the brand. President Tacopina and his partner Marcello Follano had asked for another week to break the deadlock, but the decision could also come between today and tomorrow. It is clear that if the New York lawyer threw in the towel, the path to the birth of the new Spal would become downhill for the Municipality of Ferrara, which will not retrace its steps. The municipal administration, represented by Mayor Fabbri and the Sports Councilor Carità, has no intention of compromising with the current American ownership, and is actually looking forward to presenting the tender to identify the people to whom to entrust the restart project. The official start should be between tomorrow and next Monday, then a final choice will be made within a week. At the moment, albeit unofficially, there are two groups at the starting line determined to take the reins of Spal and take it immediately from Eccellenza to Serie D. One led by Walter Mattioli, a name that immediately came to mind for all the white and blue fans after the sporting failure of Tacopina's Spal. The former president has given his availability to commit, and it appears that he is working hard to present himself before the municipal administration with solid guarantees. The same goes for the representatives of X Martiri, who have involved several Ferrarese entrepreneurs ready to invest in the project. Will it be a fight and two or will other groups present themselves?
