Vittorio Parigini determined to lead Spal towards salvation against Milan Futuro

Immediately after his arrival in Ferrara – which took place in the last hours of the transfer market – Vittorio Parigini he said he had reached the lowest point of his career. After an extremely negative period, the former winger of the Italian Under-21 national team was looking for redemption with the shirt of Spal. His path has been positive, but it has not been enough to obtain direct salvation. The striker who grew up in Torino is not passing through Ferrara, so he is determined to hit the target salvation in the double challenge with Milan Futuro and then put down roots in white and blue. "I said those words because I was coming from a disappointing experience in Cerignola, where I wasn't even considered - explains Parigini -. Arriving in Ferrara was an honor: we ended up in the playout, but many players would like to wear this shirt. I'm happy with my path: I would make this choice again, in fact I should have come much earlier. If on a personal level I'm satisfied, I'm much less satisfied with the results, but I'll do everything to achieve salvation".

How is Spal approaching the double challenge with Milan Futuro? "They have been tough months, spent chasing a direct salvation that we have not managed to achieve. But now we are charged, aware of having shown positive performances and overcome Milan Futuro in extremis. And therefore having two results out of three available to save ourselves". Does this advantageous situation not risk turning into a double-edged sword? "I exclude it, anyone who thinks something like that has understood nothing. For me we have to think as if they were two one-off games: first we go to Solbiate Arno to win and then we play in Ferrara to do the same, without thinking about the fact that two draws could be enough. For me and my teammates, only victory exists".

Mister Baldini arrived in Ferrara with her, and has always counted on her. "True, we signed on the same day. We didn't know each other, but he always gave me confidence regardless of the system. The results weren't coming, so it's normal to try to change the formation. In the last few days we finally found the right balance with this 3-4-3: I think it's not the schemes that make the difference, but the attitude and interpretation, but now it's right to continue like this".

How do you feel on the left side of the trident with Molina and Spini? "Good, also because the results are coming, which are the most important thing. It must be said, however, that everyone else is also making a significant contribution. When I arrived, I was convinced that Spal deserved much more, and I haven't changed my mind. The team, the club and the staff are top-ranked, believe me. Very few have players like Mignanelli, Radrezza and Zammarini, and Antenucci is a top player, but some seasons go like this and we are forced to play for survival in the playouts".

Is Milan Futuro the worst opponent you could face? "I may seem presumptuous, I wouldn't even be afraid of Virtus Entella: we have to achieve safety regardless of the opponent. We want to take it at all costs, we deserve it for what we've done amidst a thousand difficulties".

Where will he play next season? "I'm not moving from Ferrara: if someone wants to send me away, come and tell me. I want to play a season at a high level in Spal and play for something important with this shirt, but right now I'm only focused on staying up".
