Turin, 11 May 2025 - Inter doesn't give up. The team of Inzaghi keeps the muzzle open Scudetto and takes three points of authority in Turin thanks to the goals of Zalewski, great goal, and of Aslan, from the penalty spot, despite using many reserves after the efforts of the Champions League. A test of character from the Nerazzurri second lines who approached the match in a great way and created numerous goal opportunities, saved by the usual Milinkovic, giving a final sign of life in view of the Scudetto. For the Napoli e Tale there is still work to be done.

The Pearl of Zalewski

Inzaghi confirms the pre-match rumours and fields many reserves. Up front, the new Correa-Taremi pairing, with Zalewski as a midfielder and Darmian-Augusto as fifth. Toro with Adams as the first striker supported by Lazaro, Vlasic and Elmas. Despite the b version, Inter approaches the match well, with possession and a high centre of gravity to impose their philosophy on a Toro team that is more inclined to defend. There is an immediate interruption due to a possible fall of a fan from the stands in the Toro curve and after 4 minutes of stoppage, for medical attention, the match can resume. Toro tries to increase their blows as the minutes pass, with Vanoli's order to keep the defence as high as possible, but the match breaks apart Zalewski, in this hybrid position in midfield. The Granata open up defensively on the movements of the Inter players, thus creating a gap for Sticks which finds the vertical perfectly for Zalewski: a fine curling right-footer and 0-1 in the 14th minute.

The Granata struggle to get close to the Inter area in the first twenty minutes, they are too far from the goal and imprecise with the ball at their feet, so Martinez experiences a substantially calm start to the match. In the central phase of the half there are no opportunities, because Inter have good possession and Toro do not have the right play in the last sixteen meters.

A ring from Dembele with a high header to the far post. Inter's low runs are of quality and Correa launches the counterattack with a high-level vision for Bisseck, then the ball to darmian who launches the diagonal saved by the defense. The hosts then try with the wings and with many crosses from the bottom, but the Inter defense is good and only in the 37th minute Masina, in split, has a chance from a corner by Vlasic: ball out. Under a torrential rain Inter almost gets the second, this time Zalewski fakes the shot and clears Augusto for the cross that no one collects in the center of the area. The amount of rain increases exponentially and at 44' the referee The pen chooses to suspend to test the bounce of the ball, then it is decided to at least get to the end of the first half. The last emotion: in the final Adams he has the right spark with a diving header in the centre of the area, but Martinez performs a true Sommer-style miracle.

Asllani closes the game from the spot

The rain doesn't let up in intensity, but it's decided to continue, so the second half opens with two Inter changes. Inzaghi doesn't deviate from his philosophy: the yellow cards are out, they then go up Marco's e Dumfries for Augusto and Bisseck. The Nerazzurri immediately approach strongly and on Correa's header comes the scissor kick of Taremis thwarted by Milinkovic, but it was offside. Twenty seconds later, on the high line Toro, the Iranian attacks the depth and the goalkeeper of the Granata has no other solution than to bring him down in the area: penalty. From the spot it goes Aslan, who coolly doubled the lead in the 49th minute. With the double disadvantage, Toro tried to increase the pressure even further, but Inter had a good game from the back and moreover spaces opened up behind the Granata defence for the counterattack of the wingers, with Dimarco and Dumfries wallowing in the prairies. In fact, in the 56th minute yet another great play by Zalewski opens the restart for Marco's: diagonal that Milinkovic rejects. The hosts see themselves with a furious melee that Che Adams fails to materialize due to the intervention of Sticks. The carousel of substitutions also arrives, Inzaghi gives minutes to the starters and chooses and Calhanoglu e Stretcher for further quality in the final half hour, while Vanoli opts for the former Casadei and Perciun. Inter does not need to force and manages the ball, letting the minutes pass and Torino runs in vain, struggling to recover the ball and create clear chances to score. In fact, the away team creates more, always on the counterattack.

Dumfries this time it triggers Correa, but there is still something on his way Milinkovic, and also Calhanoglu, on the rebound, is blocked by the goalkeeper. The opportunity for Toro comes in the 72nd minute with vlasic who is good at insisting on a percussion, it's a shame that his left foot is deflected and goes just wide. The Granata produce maximum effort and Elmas tries a looping shot, but comes out central and weak and Martinez saves easily. Inter dances in the 78th minute when Dumfries loses a bad ball and is saved by a great defensive intervention by Calhanoglu, which takes away a goal already scored from vlasic, on the opposite side cross of Marco's, shore of Taremis and pumpkin pie Correa that Milinkovic puts in the corner. The end of the match with Toro unbalanced in front and Inter compact behind to close ranks and then exploit the open field. The hat-trick, however, does not arrive because there is yet another save by Savic who blocks Correa set up by Dimarco. Toro's hopes, however, are dashed in the 94th minute when Masina hits the winning spin, but La Penna sees a previous foul on Asllani. Inter, therefore, takes three important points away and keeps the Scudetto games open. For Conte it is not over.
