Torino-Juventus ends goalless

Turin, 13 April 2024 – The Mole derby ends goalless. Turin e Juventus they don't get hurt, resulting in a 0-0 draw. The Old Lady has the biggest regrets, in light of the opportunities that happened to them in the first half Vlahovic (a post for the Serbian). With this draw the boys of Massimiliano Allegri take a small step forward in terms of the Champions League, while those of Ivan Yuric (sent off towards the end of the match) remain not far from the Europa zone.

The choices of the two coaches

Turin (3-4-1-2): Milinkovic-Savic; Tameze, Good Morning, Rodriguez; Bellanova, Ricci, Linetty, Vojvoda; Vlasic; Sanabria, Zapata. Coach: Ivan Juric.

Juventus (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; Cambiaso, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Church, Vlahovic. Coach: Massimiliano Allegri.

Vlahovic wasteful

One would expect an aggressive Toro at the start and instead it is Juventus to be preferred. Juventus are in possession of the ball and in the 7th minute, a push from the right by Chiesa generates the first huge chance of the match: the former Fiorentina player leaves Tameze in place, puts the ball into the middle which Vlahovic sensationally sends it to the post, pardoning the opponents. Six minutes pass and it is once again the Old Lady who makes herself dangerous with a maneuver between Chiesa, Cambiaso and Locatelli, with the latter kicking high from inside the opponent's area. Having escaped the danger, the hosts put their heads out of the sand, albeit without creating any danger in Szczesny's area. Madama, on the other hand, collects another tasty scoring opportunity: in the 31st minute, Gatti's cross lands at the feet of Vlahovic, on whose attempt a desperate save from Milinkovic-Savic. In the 42nd minute there was also the first chance for the Granata to score, with Vlasic's strike which went to the back of the net. This is the last emotion of the opening half, which ends after four minutes of injury time.

More Toro in the second half

No substitutions during the break. In the 60th minute Sanabria's header forces Szczesny into a non-trivial save, while Vlahovic's response is too weak to beat Milinkovic-Savic. Allegri makes the first changes, inserting Iling-Junior and Yildiz for Kostic and Chiesa. In this second half Torino hoarded corners, demonstrating a more Garibaldian spirit than in the first half, but the Juventus defense was always attentive. However, Madama struggles to make herself insidious. At least until the 75th minute, when the guests' counterattack frees Yildiz, on whose right foot Milinkovic-Savic scores. Substitutions on both fronts: for Juric Okereke and Lazaro come in, for Allegri it's up to Alex Sandro and Kean (Vlahovic out). The Granata coach was subsequently expelled by the match director Maresca for protests. We are approaching the final rush and it is Torino who push in search of the advantage, against a Juventus forced onto the defensive. In the 94th minute Lazaro has the 1-0 ball on his head, but number 20 misses the big target. At the end of the seven minutes of added time the score was not resolved and so the Mole derby ended at 0-0.
