As part of the "Stories of great champions" program, an initiative dedicated to champions from Gino Bartali Cycling Museum, the meeting dedicated to took place in Ponte a Ema with great participation Enzo Sacchi, the great Florentine sprinter, Olympic and two-time world champion. The evening under the aegis of Uisp Firenze was hosted by colleague Marco Pasquini, a historic cycling journalist, with the presence of Sacchi's family, in particular his sister Anna and his children. The career of Enzo Sacchi, to whom the track of the Velodromo delle Cascine in Florence is dedicated, was retraced, with the intervention of his son Pino and some unpublished and curious behind-the-scenes stories were told.
At the end of the evening a big surprise, which moved and made Maurizio Bresci, president of the Association of Friends of the Gino Bartali Museum, very happy. The Sacchi family donated to the Cycling Museum la gold medal won by Enzo in the speed on the track at Helsinki Olympics in 1952. "With these evenings – Pasquini underlined – the Bartali Museum is returning to the centre of attention in the history of cycling".
