It hasn't been a bad journey. In fact, I never in my dreams would I have thought I would be a professional runner for 19 seasons. I will have a lot of time to think about it anyway: before that moment I have to think about many big races to prepare for". Among them, the one that will obviously stand out is the Tour de France, the Welshman's favourite race, which in 2018 saw him collect the most important result of an entire career full of laurels. As a kid I never thought I would be able to win it, or achieve many other results. This - continues Thomas - it will be a special year, of memories and of collecting photos and reflections along the way. But above all it will be a year of last times. The certainty is that I have made a beautiful journey since, in 21 years, I had introduced myself on the Tower Bridge like a kid who had absolutely no idea what was going to happen."
