The 77th edition of the race that saw Roglic triumph a year ago and which traditionally precedes the Tour de France has been presented

Primoz Roglic (Ansa)
Rome, 30 January 2025 - Among the few races that have not yet presented their route for the 2025 there was the Dauphiné Tour, which has just lifted the veil on theedition number 77 of the race that traditionally precedes the Tour de France.
The route and the possible big names at the start
Scheduled from8 al 15nd June, the hunt for the heir on the roll of honour of Primois Roglic, In which 2024 had imposed himself on Matteo Jorgenson for just 8", will unfold in the context of the usual particularly tough route dedicated to climbers. Of the 8 stages scheduled, well 3, among other things consecutive, will have an uphill finish: they will complete the menu 1 individual time trial e 4 fractions which will lend themselves to two scenarios, between the arrival of a breakaway or the arrival en masse for a final sprint, albeit perhaps with reduced ranks. We will start from Domerat before getting to Montlucon, Issoire e Charantonnay, for a triptych of apparently quite interlocutory fractions. In the stage 4, the 17,7 km in the time trial will begin to carve out a first important furrow in the general classification. However, woe betide anyone who thinks of the classic 'flat' for the pure specialists: in the track, in fact, the ones who stand out 1,5 km very hard, with an average gradient of 9%. After another day of almost passing by, the stage 6 will provide for the arrival at Combloux, while in the next one practically everything will be decided thanks to the climbs of Madeline, Iron Cross e Col du Telegraphe. Is that it? In reality the same last fraction will propose the ascent to the moncenisio, as evidence of a race that as always heats up the atmosphere a lot in view of the Tour de France. In this regard, the discussions on the start list are still premature, but it can already be assumed that the big shots who will fight for the Great Boucle they will all (or almost all) be at the start of Domerat. It applies to jonas vingegaard, as well as for Tadej pogacar, two who will not be at the Giro d'Italia and who will therefore use the French race to refine their preparation, while at home Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe the choice could fall on Florian Lipowitz, one who has already shown that he can go fast uphill. Then there is Remco Evenepoel, who, due to the well-known physical problems following the accident at the beginning of December, has in fact lost most of his time 2025 already burdened by a big question mark.
