The altimetry of the Tour of Flanders 2025

Bologna, 4 April 2025 – Cycling's Holy Week kicks off. In seven days the Tour of Flanders , Paris Roubiax, the two queens of the spring classics and with all the best in the world at the start. Two above all. Tadej pogacar will try to repeat the success in Oudenaarde in 2023, but Mathieu Van der Poel, in great shape, wants to make poker and in any case from 2020 to today he has always been first or second at the Ronde. In short, it seems a duel on all fronts and for the others there are only crumbs, even for Wout Van Aert, recently beaten at Dwaars by Neilson Powless and still appeared to be behind in condition. As for the Italians, without Alberto Bettiol winner in 2019 (out with a lung infection) all eyes will be on Pippo Ganna, standard bearer of Ineos, with Matteo Trentino, Luca Severed and David Dancers who will try to carve out a good placing to honour a race that Italy has won 11 times in history.

Timeline

The 2025 edition of the Tour of Flanders, which opens the Holy Week of cycling that ends on Sunday 13th with the Paris Roubaix, includes the start in Bruges and the arrival in Oudenaarde after 268 kilometers. The start, as usual, will be quite easy with 120 kilometers without any difficulties, then the first circuit is entered and the rumble begins. The first wall will be the Oude Kwaremont, also a protagonist in the finale, which opens a stretch of the route with Eikenberg, Wolvenberg and Holleweg. Once the prologue is over, the serious stuff begins with the sequence Martelstraat, Jagerij, Molenberg and Paddestraat, a 2300-meter stretch of cobblestones, which precedes the pairing of walls Berendries and Valkenberg (kilometer 182). The race gets into full swing and shortly after there will be the first of another great pairing with Kwaremont-Paterberg 50 kilometers from the finish, but the show is not over, because the 600-meter Koppengerg on cobblestones with maximum gradients of 20% arrives. While the finish line in Oudenaarde looms in the distance, the riders will experience the decisive moments of the race in the last thirty kilometers. It starts with the Mariaborrestraat and the Steenbeekdries, but everything will be decided with the last trio of walls. First the Oude Kruisberg of 2700 meters at 4.1%, then the third passage on the Oude Kwaremont (2 kilometers with maximums of 12%) and finally the Paterberg, the last wall of Flanders with peaks of 20% 13 kilometers from the finish. As always, the final flow towards Oudenaarde with long straights and smooth roads without particular obstacles.
