Pogacar Recounts Crash at Strade Bianche 2025: “It’s All My Fault”
The Slovenian, winner again in Piazza del Campo, explains what happened during the sensational slip: "I was going too fast". Pidcock bittersweet: "An honor to be able to follow Tadej, but there is a bit of bitterness"

Pogacar with Pidcock and Wellens on the podium of the Strade Bianche 2025 (Alive)
Siena, 8 March 2025 - Winning in every way, in the true sense of the word: after so many solitary, seemingly unopposed, kilometre-long rides, Tadej pogacar to the 2025 Roads first experiences the presence of a leathery man at his wheel tom pidcock and then a sensational fall on the descent that seems to knock him out. None of this: on the second passage on the Pinzuto Glue the Slovenian, although bleeding and wounded in body and soul, gets rid of the only rival of the day and goes to add the hat-trick to Piazza del Campo, as previously only managed to Fabian Cancellara.
Pogacar's statements
And to think that yesterday, almost prophetically, the runner of theUAE Team Emirates XRG (who also places the gregarious on the podium Tim Wellens) had stated that he could not win forever: of course, everything ends, but that moment is definitely far away if the success came even on a not exactly lucky day. "This was my third success here. I am very happy and I would have been even more happy without that fall, but a victory is still a victory". The world champion, with his usual frankness, then tries to analyse that success in that curve that was also fatal for Michal Kwiatkowski. "I don't know exactly what happened at that moment. Maybe I was going too fast, knowing these roads by heart from all the times I've driven them. I misjudged the curve even though I knew that the asphalt in that section is very slippery. These things happen, but I should have gone slower there."
Pidcock's statements
From the winner to the loser, who in these cases would normally be defined as the first of the humans: pidcock but he doesn't agree, as he had clearly made clear on the eve, refusing the idea of racing only for second place. In the end, ironically, for the British second place was and perhaps, in light of the not very brilliant (and lucky) day of pogacar, not without regrets. "Obviously I would have liked to win, but I think I did a good job, not going far from the goal. The fall of Tadej It was a stroke of bad luck for him and he gave me some more opportunities, but when he attacked the last time I realized that he was too strong for me. I'm happy but, at the same time, also a little disappointed". pidcock begins to analyze the positive sensations. "No one has ever been able to follow pogacar nor this year last season, with the exception ofThe Tour de France, so I'm satisfied with my performance. In the end, however, he managed to attack and create a gap and so my feelings are bittersweet". And to think that fate had given the assist to the runner of Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, knocking down the number one favorite. "When it happened I continued my action and then, when he got back on the bike, I decided to wait for him. He's an opponent, he's the world champion, and it's right to show respect."Read also - Parma-Torino 2-2
