Tour of the Alps 2025, Tiberi's charge: "I will participate to win"

Rome, 16 April 2025 - Although the winter season is still underway, Classics, the thought on Grand Tours and on the first of them, the Giro d'Italia 2025, is starting to appear. In short, at least in words the runner of the Bahrain Victorious he is so eager to do it, to the point of having already identified the stage to circle in red on the calendar. "The fraction that suits me best is the fourth, which is the queen that will decide the games. That day - he continues Tiberi - I'll try everything, a bit like I did last year in Valsugana: that day I really came close to the feat". Between honours and above all burdens, for an Italian cycling hungry for talent and still desperately searching for the heir of Vincenzo Nibali, often the Lazio player has undergone this rather challenging comparison. "Since I turned professional (in 2021, ed.), I am often associated with Nibali and they talk about me as his successor. For me this represents a source of pride but also a stimulus to try to reach his level and to really confirm that I can be his heir also in terms of results. We have similar characteristics, also in the approach to the races, and as Vincenzo I also think so Tour of the Alps an essential appointment before the Giro d'Italia for the difficulty it offers in its routes and, obviously, for its placement in the calendar".

The Return of Longo Borghini

  Meanwhile, the return to competition is also approaching Elisa Longo Borghini after la concussion suffered at Giro delle Fiandre 2025: the good date is the Brabant Arrow 2025. "My desire to return to the race on Friday is linked to the fact that my state of health, as confirmed by the doctors, allows me to do so. We have followed all the protocols and carried out all the necessary tests, and I have no problems, but obviously only the race will tell my real conditions. I will compete without pressure: I just want to understand how I am and if something abnormal were to emerge, the team doctors will be there to help me".
