At PalaCasali in Ancona, Mattia Turchi and Lovepreet Rai performed well in the 800 meters. Mattia Turchi competed in the first of 9 series of 800 meters and finished sixth among more than 90 athletes. With 1'52"93 he demolished his previous indoor record, getting less than a second closer to his personal best of 1'52"16 set in Imola last outdoor season. Mattia, who has just entered the Promises category, thus took home the minimum for the Italian Championships in his category and also secured a possible "B" minimum for the Absolutes.
