They open tomorrow at Nanjing, in China, the world indoor athletics championships which follow two weeks later the Europeans who saw Zaynab Dosso excel with the new Italian record of the 60 meters. Dosso is trying again in this championship which is the recovery of the one that should have taken place in 2020 and which was postponed due to Covid. And now the question arises again: what can the sprinter from Rubiera do? Her coach, Giorgio Frinolli, gives us an initial answer: "Her attitude hasn't changed, she always wants to achieve the best and is very demanding of herself. Now, however, she is much more aware of her means and is more serene, she is no longer afraid of proving something to someone. She worked very well in approaching these two events and what she did at the Europeans was extraordinary: she managed the whole day very well, dominating the heats, semi-finals, false starts and finals. Now all that remains is to repeat herself". It seems easy, but she can do it: in Holland, with 7''01 she set the best world performance of the season and in the start list she looks down on everyone from above.

In Nanjing there will be some more Europeans and obviously Americans and Jamaicans: behind Zaynab, with 7''02 we find the Swiss Mujinga Kambundji, 7''06 for the Luxembourgian Patrizia Van der Veken, 7''07 for the Polish Ewa Swoboda and for the Jamaican Jodean Williams, 7''08 for the Belgian Rani Rosius, 7''09 for the British Amy Hunt, the Hungarian Boglarka Tàkacs and the Jamaican Natasha Morrison, 7''11 for the American Celera Barnes. Then a couple of athletes could have "hidden", with excellent personal bests in their career, but with higher seasonal bests. Another Italian athlete will also be starting, Gloria Hooper. If all goes well, the podium is possible and even the first step, but with everything at stake in one or two hundredths the predictions are complicated. For the fun of it, the first place winner wins 40.000 dollars, the second 20.000, the third 10.000 and so on down to the sixth. The athletes registered for the 4,15 heats are 47, with 24 qualifying for the semi-finals at 13,15. Of these, eight will make it to the final at 14,18.

Rai will be connected on Saturday 3-5.40 on RaiSport, 13-13.30 RaiSport and 13.30-14.25 Rai 2.
