Caminata par San Zorz: success for the 50th edition between San Giorgio and the Estensi walls

A celebration with runners and walkers between San Giorgio and the Este walls. As part of the celebrations for the patron saint, the fiftieth edition of the 'Caminata par San Zorz' returned yesterday. A traditional event whose main promoter is Gianni Bosi, historic organizer of the 'Caminada par San Zorz', and Alessandro Cattabriga, organizer and activist of the Borgo San Giorgio district and president of the municipal Avis. The event saw the gathering of almost 400 participants in the area of ​​the church of San Giorgio in via Ferrariola, where registrations were held, followed by the very colorful start with several groups at the start. A fun and physical walk that took place over a distance of 6,5 km, a route that has become consolidated in recent years, starting from the bell tower of the basilica, then everyone towards the city walls with the return to the San Giorgio neighborhood. At the end, a participation prize was awarded to all those registered, in addition to a rich final refreshment. All participants registered for the recreational motor walk received a souvenir of the event as well as various gadgets, provided by the organization. Since it was a non-competitive event, there was no ranking or individual award, although for the record the fastest were Massimo Tocchio (Reno Runner) and among the women Drita Zhivani (Faro Formignana). Among the curiosities, Massimo Tocchio was also the winner of the last competitive edition in 2019 and of the other two previous ones. The awards were instead planned only for the largest groups, among which Quadrilatero won with 67 registered, for the twenty-first consecutive time, which was awarded the Avis trophy. A ranking that is completed in order with Invicta, Corriferrara and then the others.
