One more nice game between Correggio and Scandiano, in the return leg of the play-off semi-final, with the final score of 5 to 5 that rewards Eduard Granell's team, already winner in Scandiano in the first leg. Next weekend, Bdl Correggio will face Breganze (first leg at Dorando Pietri) and here they will not have the advantage of the regular season position, even if it must be said that the Vicenza team had a huge effort to beat Thiene twice, proving that they are not unbeatable. The winner of this double confrontation will go up to Serie A1. Scandiano starts well, first at 1 to 0, then at 2 to 1 and also at 3 to 2, but Correggio is good at always staying close and reacting every time. At 3 to 3, in the final seconds of the first half, Herrero commits a (half) foul on Menendez. For the referee it is an expulsion of the rossoblù and a direct shot. Herrero swears his innocence, but also adds something that referee Iuorio doesn't appreciate: he definitively sends him off, with Roller remaining one man down for six minutes. Correggio goes 4-3 on a direct shot by the excellent Casari (pictured with Pedroni), then 5-3 halfway through the second half and only at the end of the game come the two goals from Scandiano and therefore the final tie at 5-5. "We knew it was very tough - says Granell, Correggio's coach - we were both playing the season in 50 minutes. In the first half we reacted to each of their goals and then we were good at turning the game in our favor, using our heads". "It's true - says Enrico Mariotti of Roller - they were better during the regular season and colder and more lucid here in Correggio. It's a shame, we played two good games and we gave it our all".
