Cross-country race. Pesaresi in the front row in Arezzo. Gold for Masetti, silver for Renni

It took place in recent days in Poppi, in the province of Arezzo, the Aics National Cross Country Championship, organized by the National Committee, the Provincial Committee and the local sports club Casentino Athletics, with the patronage of the Tuscan Municipality. Over 250 athletes, of very different ages, from the youngest to those over ninety, mainly from central Italy, challenged each other in the natural reserve of Poppi Zoo Park, created in the wider context of the Casentino Forests.

On the grassy surface, the organizers have designed a race course with ups and downs, to be repeated in laps, truly exciting and stimulating, among the amazed looks of the wolves and the only brown bear hosted, among the good-natured and reassuring ones of the Sardinian donkeys, the beavers, the otters, the storks.

For the Aics Pesaro-Urbino Committee, double success on the four-kilometer track, with the silver medal of Leonardo Renni in the Mm70 category and the gold one of Annamaria Masetti in the MF65 category.
