Corsa della Bonifica: the sporting event along the waterways of Ferrara

Running along the waterways of the reclamation. Sunday 13 April the 'Corsa della Bonifica' returns, a competitive 12,5 km race and a 7,5 km recreational walk that can also be done with '4-legged' friends. This is the eighth edition of the 'Memorial Stefano Montori' organized by Uisp Ferrara Committee and Plain Reclamation Consortium, with the contribution of private partners. An event that will have as its meeting point the historic Baura pumping station. The event was presented yesterday morning at Palazzo 'Naselli-Crispi' in the presence of the general director of the Land Reclamation Consortium, Mauro Monti, the sports councilor Francesco Carità, the provincial director of Uisp Manuela Claysset, the president of the provincial Avis Alessandro Cattabriga, the director of Confagricoltura, Gian Marco Duo.

"The race is part of the initiatives - Monti recalled - that are not strictly related to our activities, but serve to create a strong bond with the citizens and the territory. A true celebration of sport that has met with great success over the years among both athletes and simple amateurs, also open to children and young people. The event is also an opportunity to introduce one of the historic facilities of the Consortium that dates back to the late 800s". The program includes the meeting of the participants from 8, departure at 10 with the competitive race over the distance of 12,5 km, a route that will touch the center of Baura, that of Pontegradella and Malborghetto, for the return to the Baura pumping station. Followed by the recreational motor activity over the distance of 7,5 km. At 10.05 the youth races of the mini podistica will start, with five categories, divided into different distances 300-500-1500 meters. At the end, the pasta party organized in collaboration with the 'Fienile di Baura', a social integration project of the Cooperativa Sociale Integrazione Lavoro. "I want to thank the Consortium - added Councilor Carità - for the work it does in the area through initiatives that also involve important partners such as Uisp, Avis, trade associations and volunteers. These events allow us to make known the peculiarities of the Ferrara area and it is important that a hamlet is involved, which has nothing to envy to our historic center".

The 'Corsa della Bonifica' is as always organized in collaboration with Uisp. "An important synergy - concluded Claysset - with the Consortium that gives life to moments of valorization of the territory, from foot races to bicycle itineraries. The valorization of sports and motor activity is a moment of meeting and promotion of healthy lifestyles. We therefore reason about well-being, health, prevention also linked to the theme of blood donation promoted by Avis".
