Cervia Gymnastics and Sports continues to amaze in Italian Rhythmic Gymnastics A1 Team Championship. After the sixth place obtained in the inaugural stage in Chieti, last Saturday in the second stage in Forlì he did even better, finishing fifth with a score of 103.351 points, in a race that saw Udinese triumph, followed by Armonia d'Abruzzo Chieti and Fabriano.

The architects of this result were Chiara Maltoni with 26,567 points in the hoop, the Ukrainian Anastasiia Ikan with 27,350 points in the ball, Margherita Fucci with 26,367 points in the clubs and Martina Reggiani with 23,067 points in the ribbon. The girls from Cervia, at their first appearance in A1, are in the running to enter the Final Six of Turin (May 18) where the championship will be at stake.

Everything will be decided in Ancona on April 12th in the last event, where Cervia will have Nicole Gramellini in the quartet instead of Ikan, who, like all foreigners, having already taken part in two events cannot compete in the third. "I have no words to describe the girls' performance - explains Simona Ravaioli, coach of the Cervia girls together with Yana Siniel Nikova and Natalia Putko -: they were wonderful and they outdid themselves. It was hard for them to perform last, but they entered the platform extremely happy and determined, giving their all as always and being rewarded for the hard training they did: it was a team victory where everyone gave their contribution.

We are sixth in the standings, but our goal remains safety and therefore in the last stage we must avoid the last three positions then we will see what happens. It will be nice to compete with four gymnasts from Cervia and it is a source of pride for our club, because we are the only ones in A1 to have all the athletes grown at home without resorting to loans".

The ranking of the A1 series championship for teams after the second round: 1) Udinese 219,535; 2) Motto Viareggio 214,968; 3) Armonia d'Abruzzo Chieti 215,383; 4) Milanese Forza e Coraggio 209,968; 5) Fabriano 208,250; 6) Cervia Ginnastica e Sport 207,051; 7) San Giorgio 79 Desio (208,033); 8) Polimnia Ritmica Romana 199,865; 9) Opera Roma 199,167; 10) Eurogymnica Torino 197,766; 11) Terranuova 195,016; 12) Varese 191,533.
