Half Marathon, the curtain rises. It's a record edition

An important event for the running: it will be held on Sunday 6th April, a historic edition of theHalf Marathon Florence. The event, which is celebrating its 41st edition, has been sold out for weeks, having reached 6000 registered participants. The event is organized by Uisp Committee of Florence, coordinated by Marco Ceccantini, and among the participants will see 38,8% women; 82 nations (foreigners are 40,6% of those registered). About 4000 participants for the half marathon (over the distance of 21 km and 97 meters) and 2000 for the non-competitive 10 km Vivicittà that is run simultaneously in 44 Italian cities. Among the participants also 560 Students from the Maritano Carabinieri NCO school based in Florence.

The route starts at 9:XNUMX from Lungarno della Zecca Vecchia to arrive in Piazza Santa Croce after having traveled a sort of double ring to complete the distance. A formula studied and tested to limit and in fact almost completely eliminate the inconveniences related to traffic diversions. The event, which unites sport and solidarity, was presented yesterday at the Terrazze Michelangelo by Marco Ceccantini, together with Letizia Perini, councilor for sport of the Municipality of Florence, Gabriella Bruschi, provincial president of Uisp, Lucia De Ranieri of Florence In Rosa and Giulio Ravoni, medical coordinator of the Tuscan Cancer Association.
