The 24 ° Carlos Duran Memorial goes to the archives between lights and shadows. Everything would have been perfect for the organization of Massimiliano Duran, if it had not been for the last fight on the bill, the most anticipated, when the medium Nicholas Christofori was declared defeated on points with non-unanimous verdict, at the end of the exciting challenge with the fearsome Croatian striker Mate Rudan, undefeated and winner by knockout of all the matches played. Cristofori, incredibly, on the occasion of this defeat perhaps sustained the best performance of his career. Attentive and very mobile, he eluded Rudan's assaults in the first three rounds without practically ever being touched and in the fourth the turning point of the match. On an assault by the Croatian, the Ferrarese shot a millimetric left, making his rival collapse on the canvas (in the photo). At this point, in clear crisis, Rudan struggled to get up but, not 10, but about 20 seconds passed before the referee restarted the match, so the Croatian recovered just enough to reach the saving gong. Then the challenge continued with the previous script. Mate Rudan to attack without ever finding the target with precision and the very good Cristofori, supported by the great cheering of his fans, to impose his boxing, certainly landing fewer blows than the Croatian but much more precise and clear. At the end, the enthusiasm of boxing Ferrara was frozen by the verdict: two judges awarded the victory to Rudan by 78 to 74, while Antonio Giubelli saw Cristofori prevail by 76 to 75. This is the scorecard that the public expected, judging by the whistles. Too bad. For the International Ubo title, excellent performance by the super lightweight from Padana-Romagnolo Nicolò Amore, who dominated the very generous and stoic Roman Diego Cravagno, proving himself ready to aim for even higher levels. He does not lack class and neither does he lack basic skills. Also worthy of note is the spectacular performance of the Padanian-Tunisian super lightweight Mohamed Nasri, who defeated the Argentine Sergio Escobar (over 60 professional matches), imposing a count in the last round. Confirmation then of the Italian-Dominican light heavyweight Yohan Acosta, an undefeated twenty-two year old with considerable talent, who put on a real show of technique and speed to the detriment of the tenacious Moldavian Martiniuc. In the very heated amateur part, five victories, two draws and one defeat for Pugilistica Padana.
