In front of a crowd worthy of the great occasions that filled the Palafiera, the Forlì stage of the national championship of series A1, A2 and B took place last weekend. rhythmic gymnastics organized by the Forlì company Gymnica96. All 'Unieuro Arena 37 teams from all over Italy performed, bringing around 300 athletes to Romagna, including many stars of international and Italian rhythmic gymnastics.
The competition kicked off on Saturday afternoon with the A2, the category in which the home team plays, but the Italian national team – known to the fans as the 'Farfalle' – led by the new captain, opened the match. Martina Centofanti who performed with the new program created after the Olympics.
Gymnica was the second team to take to the floor, with excellent performances on the hoop and clubs by twins Martina and Sofia Minotti, on the ball by Aurora Benedetti and on the ribbon by Ginevra Finotto, on loan from Udinese. The team from Forlì finished in last place despite 4 executions without losses. The team from Lucca, Albachiara, won the second A2 test, which included among its ranks the foreign Uzbek Takmina Ikromova, returning from the Olympics.
After the A2 awards ceremony, another performance by the Italian National team entertained those present with the new exercise with 3 hoops and 2 balls. Immediately after, it was the turn of A1, which saw Udinese triumph in the stage. The B series instead saw the Perugia Fortebraccio team excel. The competition opened with a beautiful performance with clubs by Gianni Ballardini, an athlete from Gymnica96 who has represented men's rhythmic gymnastics for several years and who reveals the willingness of the Federginnastica to open its doors to the men's section as well as artistic gymnastics.
Among the guests of honor were also Fabrizia, Fabio and Massimo Grandi, children of the late and esteemed Bruno, former international president of Federginnastica, very close to the hosts. To close the weekend, there was also a moment of emotion during the award ceremony for Milena Baldassarri, a great champion from Ravenna, much loved by the rhythmic gymnastics public, who said goodbye to the platforms after having participated in two Olympics, Tokyo and Paris, and having entered the history of rhythmic gymnastics as the only Italian to have reached the final of the best 8 athletes in the world in both. Milena trained as a gymnast with the colors of Gymnica, where she played until 2012, and then entered the national academy of Fabriano.
