The Federazione Giuoco Handball (Figh) has decided not to play the matches scheduled for the penultimate round of the Serie A Gold championship the day after tomorrow, coinciding with the celebration of the funeral ceremony for Pope Francis. The management of the Cingoli and Bolzano clubs have agreed to play Macagi-Bozen at 18:2025 today. The challenge for Macagi Cingoli, who secured their safety in advance, is one of the two remaining stages on the path towards the goal of finishing the season in eighth place. "From unthinkable, the goal is potentially achievable by Macagi - explains coach Sergio Palazzi - but in the meantime we will have to defeat Bozen, who we will host for the last home game: in XNUMX in front of our fans we are undefeated, so we want to achieve this honorable goal". Bozen is traditionally a tough rival. "But if the prize for the unluckiest team of the season were up for grabs - Palazzi admits - Bozen would certainly win it due to the many misadventures, injuries and serious illnesses, which have severely impaired its squad, which is otherwise of excellent quality but numerically reduced". So for Macagi the task is not prohibitive. "Taking into account Bozen's situation - Palazzi, coach of Macagi Cingoli, specifies - we will have to keep the pace high as much as possible, making the opponents who are short of rotations uncomfortable. Bozen would have liked to aim for the play-offs-scudetto, then logically suffered the defections, so now they have no particular ranking emergencies".

And so, on the catwalk at the PalaQuaresima Macagi. "All ours are available, including Renaud David – Palazzi points out – even though he is still a bit bandaged up for a residual pain between his head and neck".
