Mattia Vinciguerra, the boxer with a degree in motor sciences, promotes social inclusion

The boxer graduate. Tuesday morning Mattia Vinciguerra, the 'Tractor of Marcianise' who found in the Reggiana Boxing Olmedo his sporting home and in teaching a new field to fight, has reached a special milestone: the Master's Degree in Motor Sciences.

He did it with a thesis with an emblematic title - "Social inclusion through sports practices. Methodology of training with boxing" - which tells a bit of his story: the boxing as an educational tool, as a lever to take kids off the streets and offer them a different perspective.

"It's a way to tell how boxing can help you enter the real world without ruining your life," explained Vinciguerra himself after the proclamation, which was attended by his parents, brother, girlfriend and uncles.

"I talked about my sporting experience and also about my first year of teaching at Zanelli. There I see guys who are a few years younger than me, who immediately understand my approach. The same thing happens in the gym: the ring becomes a mirror to bring out who you are, your limits and your resources".

A career, that of the twenty-three-year-old from Campania who became the adopted son of Reggio Emilia, already marked by difficult moments and restarts. "I fought on Friday but unfortunately it didn't go well - says Vinciguerra, who at the proclamation bore on his face the signs of the fight a few days earlier - My head was very busy, but this is part of the path of a boxer and an athlete. Besides - he jokes - in legends there is always the moment of the fall, to then get up again...".

The champion of Reggiana Boxe Olmedo will be back in the ring on May 24th, for a boxing meeting organized by the company. This time in Salvaterra in piazza, at his home. Mattia Vinciguerra fights in the super middleweight category, he is 23 years old and from yesterday in the ring they will have to call him 'doctor'.
