Sci. Maria Elena Coin, Unife student, on the podium at the tricolors

Cus Ferrara on the podium at National University Alpine Ski Championships held in Valzoldana. Maria Elena Coin, a student of medical biotechnology at our university, won the silver medal in the test of giant slalom held on the Cristelin slope in Zoldo. The athlete, born in 2004 and a member of the Sci Club 18 of Cortina, part of the Veneto committee team, third after the first run, with an almost perfect second run climbed up the podium, placing herself on the second step, a short distance from Lisa Rodari (Cus Bergamo) who went on to win.

"The snow was great and allowed me to push from start to finish," said the athlete. "I'm very happy with my skiing in the race," Maria Elena finished, "and I'm proud to have brought the colors of the University of Ferrara to the podium."

In the men's field, Alessio Gottardi, gold in the last edition, did not perform brilliantly, finishing in 10th place after two descents in which he was unable to express his full potential. Vasco Goberti, the other representative of Cus Ferrara, was 19th, making his absolute debut in the event.
