Confirming yourself at high levels in table tennis, as in other sports, is never easy, especially when the years go by and young and emerging athletes offer increasingly fierce competition. For Luca Balleri but time really seems to have stopped. Last weekend, the 67-year-old from Pistoia obtained third place in the National Open Tournament of over 1000 category, played in San Felice sul Panaro, in the province of Modena. An extraordinary result obtained in a competition in which some of the best Italian athletes took part, most of whom were much younger than our standard-bearer, who managed to confirm himself once again among the best table tennis players in the entire nation.
"I would like this result, as well as the others obtained over the years - said the champion from Pistoia - to help put the spotlight on our discipline. It is a beautiful sport, which transmits a great quantity of values and which can be practiced in very different age groups".
