A Sunday in the center with Vivicittà. Hundreds of runners and walkers are expected at the event of national interest. An event that will be held on Sunday, now in its forty-first edition, organized by Uisp Ferrara, sponsored by the Municipality and with the contribution of some partners Coop Alleanza 3.0, Avis comunale and Erregi Sport. A new feature will be the starting and finishing point, which this year will be in Piazza Castello. The program includes a meeting of participants from 7.30:9 then at 300 the start of the youth categories on the distances of 500-1500 and 9.30 meters, then at 10:5 the start of the competitive race (10km) followed by a non-competitive walk (10/XNUMX km) and a walk with four-legged friends. This event called the "largest race in the world" embraces in a single, original formula, professional athletes, Sunday sportsmen and families with the competitive XNUMXkm in addition to the recreational motor walk in many Italian and foreign cities, departure for everyone at the same time, single ranking based on compensated times. Specifically in Ferrara the route of the competitive and non-competitive will cross the streets of the Estense center, to appreciate the architectural and historical beauties above all the Castle.
Three historical curiosities related to the very first two editions of Vivicittà. These were held over the half marathon distance and in 1984 Orlando Pizzolato won, while in 1985 Massimo Magnani from Ferrara won, then the following year it changed to the current distance, initially Vivicittà was held in the central square, then moved to other areas of the Estense center. During the event, vehicle circulation will be suspended for the time strictly necessary to allow the passage of competitors. The streets affected by the measure will be in particular Largo Castello, Corso Giovecca, Via Caneva, Via Scandiana, Via Borgo di Sotto, Via Porta San Pietro, Via Carlo Mayr, Via Ripagrande, Corso Piave, Viale Vittorio Veneto, Viale Cavour and the finish in Largo Castello. The race route affected by the ban will be repeated twice.
