Dosso yesterday at the press conference together with the great champion Duplantis: "In these indoor world championships I will try to go under 7 seconds in the 60".

A high-level official press conference, with two top-level athletes. This is how it was presented Zaynab Dosso in Nanjing, in the company of a certain…Duplantis world (photo), certainly the best pole vaulter of all time. It is evident that the organization of the World Indoor Championships which start today in China wanted to showcase two athletes on whom he is banking a lot in terms of image.

Dosso, let us remember, has the best world performance of 2025 on 60 meters indoor with 7''01, which is also Italian record established two weeks ago at the European Championships in Holland. The 25-year-old athlete from the Rubiera school, now trained by Giorgio Frinolli, but previously with the Corradini Rubiera jersey by Loredana Riccardi, will play everything tomorrow, from the heats at 4,15:14,18 (Italian time) in the night between today and tomorrow, up to the final scheduled for XNUMX:XNUMX.

"It all started in Glasgow last season," Dosso said. "That world indoor bronze projected me into a completely different environment than the previous one. The gold in Apeldoorn gave me even more motivation to do great things. I'm happy to return to competing and see how far I can push myself. Having the best time of the year isn't a burden, on the contrary, it reassures me. It makes me think about all the work done. Yes, now I'm a much more aware Zaynab."

When asked about the atmosphere in the Italian team, Dosso proudly replies: "Many young people have started to believe they can dream big. Before, we were afraid, we set limits for ourselves. Then Tokyo came along and it was 'wow'. Now I hope that my results will inspire the new generation: I would like to become the first Italian to go under 7 seconds in the 60 and under 11 seconds in the 100. Without a doubt, going under 11 seconds outdoors is my seasonal goal, because this is the race that symbolizes speed. If I could already go under 7 seconds here, and I think I can do it, it would be a great viaticum for the summer season".

Also competing in the 60m, albeit with less ambition, is the other Italian, Gloria Hooper.

INTERNATIONAL RESULTS. At the 10km road race in Lille, France, 11th was Pietro Riva (who lives in Rubiera and is trained by Stefano Baldini) with a personal best of 27'49'' and 32nd was Yassin Bouih (trained by Vehid Gutic) with a personal best of 28'37''.
