Coach Nicola Brienza's charge to face the crucial challenge with Rimini

Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù is just one win away from Serie A. After the blitz at Flaminio in Game 2 (66-74), the Brianza team will return tomorrow night to the parquet of the PalaFitLine in Desio to try to close the series with a clear 3-0. The arena will be packed: all the tickets are sold out, a sign of the feverish wait for a promotion that the square has been waiting for too long.

Coach Nicola Brienza, at the end of Game 2, spoke of "a game of resilience, not beautiful but intense and physical, as it should be in a final". Then the special dedication: "We wanted to win for Rebecca, the newborn daughter of our physiotherapists Simona and Federico". Brienza underlined how the group was able to react to difficult moments: "We didn't approach well, too many lost balls and rebounds conceded, but we stayed there, and in the end we got into the rhythm and the game". Fundamental were McGee's 20 points ("pardoned" for "provocative and offensive gestures to stir up the home crowd, also causing a brawl between managers and athletes of both teams for a few minutes": the two-day disqualification transformed into a fine) and the baskets of Moraschini and De Nicolao in the last quarter, won by Cantù 25-8. Now the inertia is all white and blue. Rimini, however, has shown quality and mental strength and will fight dearly. Game 3 Tip-off tomorrow at 20.45:XNUMX PM.ALM
