Pisa, 23 March 2025 – He suffers but wins, the GMV, in the home derby of the tenth day of the championship regional division 2, group A, against Bellaria Pontedera. Perhaps too presumptuous towards their more modest opponents (at least on paper), who arrived in Ghezzano with only nine players, the men of Cinzia Piazza e Daniele Meschinelli they won the two points in the last partial, thus remaining, together with Valdera, Polisportiva Chimenti Livorno and Dinamo Rosignano, in the quartet of play-off hopefuls, awaiting the next decisive challenges with Volterra and Liburnia and the recovery of the Pisa derby with IES.

THE REPORT – The match starts off in a balanced way, with the black-greens unwatchable in defense, with many good conclusions conceded to the opponents, and not very dangerous in attack, with poor ball circulation and individual solutions, often forced: the first quarter ends with the guests in the lead for 12-16. In the second half the script doesn't change, Ghezzano's defense is much more shaky, but the home quintet finds a slightly more orderly game, remaining in the game at the long interval (30-36). Upon returning to the parquet, both teams are very aggressive, GMV recovers concreteness in defense and shortens the gap at the end of the third period (46-49). In the last quarter Davini and his teammates maintain their determination, Bellaria, with only four changes, begins to feel tired and, in the first four minutes, the home team scores a break of 7-0 which changes the inertia of the game (53-49). In the remaining 6 minutes, the opponents try to recover the disadvantage, but the boys of Cinzia Piazza and Daniele Meschinelli are good at containing the comeback, thanks also to the zone, and restarting on the counterattack, thus maintaining a constant advantage until the conclusion (64-59).

THE VALUES – In a not entirely positive evening, it is worth mentioning the return of Bellavia, who proved to be important, finishing in double figures with 18 points, followed by the expert Davini with 15.
