GRASS – After two defeats in a row, against Pielle Livorno and Lucca, Aymarà Costone wins in Prato and takes two very important points for the standings and to try to get out of the play-out zone. In the Toscanini gym, however, it did not start in the best way for coach Fattorini's girls. After six minutes, in fact, the home team was ahead 15-2, taking advantage of a decidedly too soft start by Costone. Then comes an important partial, 12-0 that calls everything into question. After 10 minutes, in fact, Prato leads by only one point. In the second ten minutes, Siena starts very well and overturns the score, already digging a first important gap at the long interval, 20-27. In the second half of the game, Prato makes its maximum effort to get back into the match but the zone defense of Fattorini's team (in the photo) allows Aymarà to practically always keep at least two possessions of margin, drawn on one occasion when Pilli's girls had reached -3. In the final quarter, in fact, despite the importance of the stakes, Costone's hand does not tremble and Skapin and her teammates win with a five-point margin. A very important success, as mentioned, given that it was a huge opportunity to close the gap on their closest competitors in the standings and because on the eve there had been some ailments to manage with Pastorelli and Nanni, for example, not at their best and in fact yesterday they were used very little.

"It is undoubtedly a fundamental victory to hope to get out of the playout zone – Fattorini said yesterday immediately after the match in Prato - we had to win also considering the calendar that awaits us. The girls were good at managing the nervousness that the stakes had logically produced". After Prato, Aymarà will in fact face Terni, CMB Valdarno (two direct clashes), Nico Basket and Perugia (the top two in the class).
